Spelling 'cial', 'tial' and 'sial' - Spy themed
This pack contains fun games and ideas that can be used when teaching how to spell words ending in ‘cial’ and ‘tial’. It has been devised around a spy, CIA theme. The concept is about knowing the rules of the land (in this case ‘cial’ and ‘tial’ rules of use) and then spying on and rounding up the rule breakers (controversial, palatial, partial, financial, initial).
The initial activity is a sorting activity and identification of spelling rules and words that are rule breakers.
The second activity practices applying the rules.
There is also a 4 in a row spying game.
Finally, there is a spelling test and spy ranks are awarded depending on the score achieved on the test.
