Included are one off lessons/ starter resources that can be used in those times where someone isn't in/ if you're a supply teacher who hasn't been left any planning. These are aimed at Key Stage Two, particularly for 5/6 with more lessons added as it develops.
The final three lessons in a sequence of twelve lessons that focuses on researching and writing an information text about the Amazon Rainforest. Included is the unit plan, a KWL sheet that can be used to check and develop understanding, the lesson presentation which includes pink and green bubbles to support and challenge and activities required for the lesson as well as a fact file.
A range of extracts from various stories and a sorting grid for children to magpie different examples of vocabulary including nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs that they can then include in their own story writing.
A lesson that focuses on 6 different types of nouns. Included is a starter question before a focus on nouns through the lesson. Each one is given a definition and some examples before children then try to think of other examples. There are then a range of activities that can be used before the use of an exit question from a previous KS2 GPS paper.
Two sets of differentiated worksheets for children to work on apostrophes. There are a set of three that focus on using apostrophes for possession and a set of three that focus on using apostrophes in contractions/ omitting.
A sheet with key grammatical terms (select terms rather than all) that may come up in the KS2 GPS test that children can use to remember them. Included is a definition and some examples of these to try and support understanding.
40 different questions for Chapter Seventeen of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl that test a range of skills. These can be used for guided reading sessions or to give children as activities to support guided reading sessions/ whole class reading comprehensions. The questions follow the order of the chapter but don't have answers attached as the answers can vary depending on the child's opinion.
The song lyrics for ‘Rewrite the Stars’ from The Greatest Showman with four different comprehension activities. Each of the activities matches up to one or more of the VIPERS skills with the activities potentially providing four reading lessons from the song.
The fourth comprehension may be better used after watching the video so that children who may not have seen the film are able to appreciate the views of the era.

Included is the lesson presentation which includes challenge questions and a variation style question as well as an activity for children to work through and an exit task taken from a previous KS2 GPS test on identifying the subject of the sentence.
A lesson that focuses on active and passive. Included is the PowerPoint with some key recap elements before working on active and passive. This will include identifying the difference, identifying subject, object and verb and changing sentences into active or passive. Also included are green challenge bubbles for children who finish the tasks whilst others are working on them. There is then an activity for children to work through and an exit question taken from a KS2 GPS test.
A fact file/ knowledge organiser that can be stuck in children's books when doing the persuasive genre in writing or for a help sheet if they are writing a persuasive text in a foundation subject.
A sequence of lessons based on the closing sequence from The Greatest Showman. Included is a PowerPoint that goes through the lessons (not a set lesson but more of a fluid sequence) including tasks and examples of writing with all the supporting resources for the tasks. The writing outcome is based on the first half of the video link given to create three to four paragraphs of writing.
Made with Year 6 in mind but easily adaptable to other year groups.
A simple checklist that is easy for pupils to use. Includes the key features that should be included within an discussion text for children to refer back to during independent writing to self-assess/ for teachers to then use to assess against afterwards.
A lesson that gets children to work on being able to identify the key features of a diary. Included is the presentation and two different worksheets, with the HA worksheet then getting children to think about regional dialects and rhetorical questions.

A lesson that works on direct speech and being able to punctuate it accurately. Included is the lesson presentation with objectives and three differentiated worksheets.
A story taken from BBC News about the need to charge people a deposit to reduce how many tents are being left at festivals aterwards. Included is the majority of the story and a comprehension activity that includes answers.
Also useful for a discussion about plastic and what children think about the tents left behind and how they could be used/ how the issue could be resolved.
