A double lesson for Year 5 that focuses on children being able to multiply whole numbers by 10, 100 or 1000.
Included is a double lesson PowerPoint that includes an arithmetic starter for each lesson, key vocabulary, discussion points and practices. There is then an activity that includes an answer sheet and challenge questions for anyone that finishes with answers again included.
A ten lesson sequence focusing on addition and subtraction in Year 5.
Most lessons come as double lessons with two single lessons as introductions ahead of the double lessons that follow them.
The lesson sequence is as follows:
Lesson 1 - Written Addition
Lesson 2 and 3 - Written and Mental Addition
Lesson 4 - Written Subtraction
Lesson 5 and 6 - Written and Mental Subtraction
Lesson 7 and 8 - Choosing most appropriate method for addition and subtraction
Lesson 9 and 10 - Inverse operations and finding missing numbers in calculations
Each lesson/ double lesson includes PowerPoints which include arithmetic starters for every lesson, key vocabulary, teaching, discussion and practise before moving on to the independent activity and challenge questions. Over a double lesson, the activity and challenge task remain the same as it gives children chance to go in depth in both the teaching in the first lesson and through the challenge questions in the second lesson. Answer sheets are included for all activities and challenges.
A double lesson for Year 5 that focuses on children being able to use the inverse operation and find missing numbers in a number sentence.
Included is a double lesson PowerPoint that includes an arithmetic starter for each lesson, key vocabulary, discussion points and practices. There is then an activity that includes an answer sheet and challenge questions for anyone that finishes with answers again included.
A double lesson for Year 5 that focuses on children deciding when it is most appropriate to use written methods for addition and subtraction and when mental methods are most appropriate.
Included is a double lesson PowerPoint that includes an arithmetic starter for each lesson, key vocabulary, discussion points and practices. There is then an activity that includes an answer sheet and challenge questions for anyone that finishes with answers again included.
Two different worksheets that give the chance to practise multiplying a 4-digit number by a 2-digit number using the written method.
Both worksheets are set out as a list of questions with children required to then set them out accurately themselves as part of the written method. If they are still struggling to set out numbers accurately, a 3-digit by 2-digit version with questions set out accurately can be found at the link below.

The first sheet focuses on multiplying a 4-digit number by a 1-digit number before then multiplying the same 4-digit number by a 2-digit number to introduce the new step. The final questions are then a range of 3-digit by 2-digit to apply the new learning.
The second sheet focuses on multiplying different 4-digit numbers by 2-digit numbers.
There is also a multiplication square attached to support if necessary.
Two different worksheets that give the chance to practise multiplying a 3-digit number by a 2-digit number using the written method.
Both worksheets are set out in two ways: one where the questions are just written and children need to set them out and one where they are already set out ready. Answer sheets are also included for both sheets.

A double lesson for Year 5 that recaps previous learning of written subtraction from Year 4 and an introductory lesson as well as focusing on mental methods.
Included is a double lesson PowerPoint that includes an arithmetic starter for each lesson, key vocabulary, discussion points and practices. There is then an activity that includes an answer sheet and challenge questions for anyone that finishes with answers again included.
Three different PowerPoints that includes all the questions from the 2017, 2018 and 2019 KS2 Arithmetic paper on separate slides so that you can go through methods easily for each question individually should you wish/ should you use past paper for practise.

Three different coordinate grid templates that can be used freely to create your own resources linked to position and direction. There is one that is the first quadrant, one that then has the top 2 quadrants and one that is all four quadrants with them all going up to 10 or -10 along the x and y-axis.
Uploaded as a PPT so that they can be used freely to create your own resources to support in class, whether focusing on reading coordinates, plotting, reflecting or translating.
Three different worksheets that give the chance to practise multiplying a 2-digit number by a 1-digit number using the written method.
All three worksheets are set out in two ways: one where the questions are just written and children need to set them out and one where they are already set out ready. Answer sheets are also included for all 3 sheets.
The first sheet focuses on multiplying the same 2-digit numbers by different 1-digit numbers to practise the method.
The second sheet focuses on multiplying different 2-digit numbers by the same 1-digit number and the third sheet is a mix of different 2-digit numbers and 1-digit numbers.
There is also a multiplication square attached to support if necessary.
