Whole Geography lesson- The Chambamontera Micro-Hydro Scheme- Geography GCSE- AQA Spec- Paper 2- Resource Management - Energy- Sustainability and energy production.
Topics- Peru and energy supply- ‘bottom-up’ schemes and productivity.
Uses interactive and differentiated tasks to look at subsistence farming and micro-hydro energy schemes.
Videos embedded about the case study to aid understanding- looks at how the scheme works in Chambamontera and how it benefits the community.
AQA A Level Geography- Contemporary Urban Environments- Megacities
Lesson for students to research and map the megacities of the world.
Looks at: location of megacities, characteristics, + opportunity to discuss named examples.
Differentiated with challenge questions- students will never sit there with nothing to do!
Used for a lot of student led work for them to research the location of megacities- a map of this could be provided to students though if they did not have internet access.

To know the definition of wreathing.
To understand the three types of weathering: physical, chemical, biological.
Excellent if we are able to explain the impacts of weathering on a river system.

I use these for weekly tests throughout the term to recap knowledge for 15 minutes at the beginning the lesson. Each slide has 5 questions related to case studies and knowledge for urban issues and challenges. There are 8 sets of quick quizzes.

Includes lessons, activities and assessments.

This lesson focuses on Poverty and Jobs in Rio. Differentiated with key words, challenge tasks and objectives.
AQA A Level Geography- Urban Air Quality- Contemporary Urban Environments- whole lesson.
LO: To understand the causes of poor air quality in urban areas.
To be able to assess the extent to which solutions can improve urban air quality.
Content- what is air pollution + photochemical smog- definition, causes and impacts. - Links to London Smog event.
Solutions- congestion charge, pedestrianisation, pubic transport, car sharing, legislation etc.
Students must gather knowledge on the solutions using an attached worksheet- aims, successes and limitations to then apply it to an exam question.
Exam question is differentiated with sentence starters for lower ability students.
