A discussion activity around balls and sports. Sheet 1 asks children to label the pictures e.g.rugby and tennis balls. They can colour them in. Sheet 2 is a word bank for those children who need support with their writing. Sheet 3 is a doodle sheet for colouring in a selection of balls including non- sports balls such as a crystal ball and snowball.

A game where children make an outfit for every day of the week. The idea is to match each day with a colour and then collect one of each item of clothing to make a set. e.g shirt, trousers, socks, hat and shoes for Monday would all be red. Children can colour or decorate their sets. Alternatively, cut and laminate the cards to make matching games. Suitable for EYFS and KS1. This activity has 30 black and white cartoon cards. The first page is an example of 6 pictures that have been given a title and coloured in. Cut out the black and white pictures and ask the children in pairs or groups to come up with a title for each picture. This makes for a fun speaking and listening activity and for children to be creative in their writing. Children could colour and share their cartoon pictures explaining them to the rest of the class. They could write a caption / sentence or paragraph to describe their picture. There is a blank template at the end for you or the children to use to make more drawings or cartoons of your own. This is a great way to learn about or research travel and journeys. There are 3 examples of places commonly visited showing the flags, photos and other related images: GB, Italy and France. The children can write about these places using the pictures for inspiration. Collect all the ‘footprints’ the children have made to make a super display with the Earth in the centre.
