This activity can be shown on the whiteboard and children each given an answer sheet to mark off the missing words as they come to them. Alternatively, each of the 10 worksheets can be used on their own. Children complete the sentence with a missing word. The missing words are sometimes repeated such as ‘water’ and ‘chocolate’ but the containers or descriptions are different e.g. a bar of chocolate a box of chocolates This is a good speaking and listening activity and useful for those learning English.

This is a fun activity linked to your topic on Homes and linking to numbers, reading and comprehension. 6 Children live in the street and the children work out from the questions who lives in which number house, the names of the children and the numbers of the houses. Sheet 1 can be filled when all the questions are answered or can be used as a template for the teacher to add his/her own names and numbers. Sheet 2 gives some house numbers and names and the children fill in the missing answers. Sheet 3 asks 10 questions. The teacher could read these out or the children can read them and work out their answers alone or as a pair. Encourages speaking and listening. Answer sheets are included. Sheet 6 is a cutting and matching activity where children match the colour houses with the children that live in them.
