Lesson for GCSE History Weimar and Nazi Germany Edexcel spec but can easily be adapted to any other Germany spec which requires a lesson about the impact of WWI or indeed KS3 History.
This is lesson 1 from my unit of work on Weimar Germany 1918-1929
Lesson 1: Intro to topic and WWI Context
This lesson examines the impact of WWI on Germany following the Armistice setting context for the German Revolution.
Also includes a map of Germany and details of political unrest in 1918.

GCSE Edexcel Superpower Relations and the Cold War 1941-1991
This lesson follows my lesson on the Second Berlin Crisis and examines why the Wall was built and what the consequences were on Berlin/ Germany, USA, USSR and International Relations.
Fully resourced, does not need textbooks - any reference to the textbook- has all the necessary information on the following slides/ animations pull it up but obviously you can use the textbooks if you have them- or print the info on the slides for students to do that task independently.
Very detailed; enough material for Grades 9-1.

Very detailed resources on the effects of War Communism, impact and opposition to the Bolsheviks and the reasons why NEP was introduced, what the NEP was and successes and failures of the NEP as well as impact on the Bolsheviks includes Decree on Party Unity and hints about how Stalin used this later on.
All resources are included, does not require any textbook/ additional worksheets.

Long Term Causes of World War I
This is a two-three lesson plan looking at the MAIN causes of WWI starting with tensions between the Great Powers and looking at key themes such as Weltpolitik and Imperialism, Alliances and Nationalism and Militarism and Arms/ Naval races. Also includes the Moroccan and Bosnian crises (in brief!)
Includes powerpoint, worksheets and several activities- including historiography and interpretations of Germany’s role in “starting WWI.”
Suitable for KS3 or as an intro to KS4 unit on International relations.
A huge bundle of example answers for ALevel Russia 1894-1941 - OCR ALevel course but can be adapted for any exam board.
OCR uses 20 mark “How far do you agree?” style open essays and 10 mark shorter questions in which students must only compare 2 factors as a more important cause or consequence of something.
These answers are all A-A* grade responses.

Alevel Lessons on Stalin’s Russia
For the OCR 1894-1941 spec but can easily be used for any ALevel on Stalin as the content is way more detailed than needed.
Includes:
-How did Stalin take power? Power struggle with Trotsky and others
-Stalin’s priorities and economic policies- collectivisation and 5 year plans includes impact on production and other impact e.g. the famine/ Holodomor an evaluation of successes and failures
-The Cult of personality, use of propaganda and Cultural Revolution
-Terror
-Living standards in Stalin’s Russia
Ultimately these lessons cover the entirety of the topics on Stalin for the OCR board. Each lesson has had 6-7 hours of planning- some of them cover four-five hours of teaching plus homework. I have read widely and in depth and put a lot of time into the resources to save you time!
Lesson on Living Conditions in the USSR under Stalin
Looks at the consequences of the 5 year plans and includes analysis and evaluation of the impact on certain groups in society.

Edexcel GCSE Superpower Relations and the Cold War
This is my 4th lesson from Key Topic 3: The End of the Cold War but can be used as a stand alone lesson.
In depth examination of who Reagan was, his ideas and beliefs and his policies including increased arms spending, rolling back Communism by funding guerrillas and the Strategic Defense Initiative (Star Wars) programme. Includes youtube video clips, source work and all the detail needed for students. Fully resourced nothing else needed.
Examines how Reagan’s personality played a key role in developments from the Second Cold War to Gorbacev;s “New thinking” and need to reform the USSR (this is next lesson).
Also includes a bumper retrieval practice for Key Topic 1 and 2 Highlighter Heads to help students recall key individuals from earlier in the Cold War (includes all key individuals from Roosevelt to Brezhnev, Dubcek and Husak).

Lesson for Edexcel GCSE Weimar and Nazi Germany
This lesson looks at Nazi policies towards the Church including why the Church was a threat as well as support from members of the church such as Ludwig Muller.
The lesson examines and evaluates Nazi policies to control the Church- weighing up successes overall.
Includes colour code activity, discussion tasks, guided note making and justification of arguments. Includes interpretation evidence for the debate at the end.
