Edexcel GCSE: ANglo Saxons and Normans Can be used/ adapted for other exam boards. Topic 2- looking at the ways in which William established control- this is a lesson created to save teaching time by covering a lot of content in 1 lesson with students splitting the workload and then teaching each other the content. Includes retrieval quiz for topic 1 Anglo Saxons and all resources necessary- if you don’t have the textbooks all info is on the slides which can be printed and handed out to relevant groups.

This lesson is for KS3 not KS4 therefore is more focused on the Big 3 and their aims rather than simply the impact on Germany and Dolchstoss etc- I do have a lesson for KS4 as well Fully resourced lesson with several different activities. It examines how far the lives of women changed during the 1920s and covers flapper culture as well as opposition from Christians and Traditional women as well as some men and authorities. Includes 3 activities - a similarity and difference activity, note taking from a video clip and explanation and a card sort with continuums to annotate before making final judgments. Considers nuances such as the lives of African-Americans in both the North and South e.g. Harlem Renaissance vs Southern Jim Crow repressed women. Also looks at age groups and rural vs urban women.

Alevel Russian History OCR -can be used for any spec/ GCSE if simplified Very comprehensive double 2 hour lesson plus homework on the Impact of WWI on Russia - Economics, Society and Politics and the Causes of the February Revolution Includes a very detailed powerpoint including retrieval tasks for previous work studied, including debates, e.g. how stable was Russia on eve of war? Was the February revolution from above or below? Looks at all political, economic and social effects of WWI follows my previous lesson on How stable was Russia in 1914. Card sort of factors, Ripple diagram for pupils to fill in with causes for different groups in society e.g. national minorities and peasants vs army and industrial workers. Also includes an example 20 mark essay examining the significance of WWI vs Nicholas II’s actions even before WWI.

Double Lesson for ALevel OCR TUdor Rebellions focused on the Oxfordshire and Essex Rebellions- more on the Essex Rebellion since Oxfordshire is not very significant and doesn’t have lots of material. Very comprehensive 2 x 2 hour lessons (more if you use the Starkey youtube clip)- ((you may want to include a disclaimer about his views not being the views of your History department!)) and use all of the reading. Essex is such a character- I love teaching this. You can also buy this as part of a bundle of Tudor Rebellions lessons on Rebellions against Mary and Elizabeth (England only) I have a separate bundle for Ireland.
