GCSE Edexcel (can be used for any board) lesson on the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. This is my 6th lesson in the unit on the Cold War for the key topic 1: Origings of the Cold War. Key Stage 4 or 3 Lesson on the League of Nations and why it failed to prevent war I devised a decision making game to try and make it a little more interesting and to get students to think more deeply about the motivations for the countries in the League in making their decisions not to sanction. This lesson looks at why the League did not stop the powerful nations in the 1930s through a decision making game.

Edexcel GCSE History: Anglo Saxon and Norman England Key Topic 2 Lesson covering Anglo Saxon rebellions against William This fully resourced lesson has everything you need to teach the rebellions against William. In reality it will take two lessons to do it properly and properly tell the stories of the Saxons who fought back. Covers the rebellions of Edwin and Morcar, Edgar Aethling and King Sweyn and Hereward the Wake.

This quiz took about 10 hours of my life (that I will never get back!) to make but the students loved it- just the right balance of inappropriate to be funny but still all related to the Tudor Court, rebellions and key individuals. It is mainly a music quiz with some of the rebels, Tudor characters and noblemen being represented in song lyrics…in other cases the rebellions are represented by the song. There is a round on Tudor swear words and other random trivia. Answer sheet attached- slides plus answer sheet should be self explanatory but if you need anything explaining further email me- lasts about an hour and a half including marking and going through answers- I don’t play the whole songs- just the relevant extracts.
