This lesson is a fun and unusual way of introducing the great powers in 1900 and getting pupils to think about International Relations. I took the idea from a version of this at my training school but this is 100% my own version of it with added ridiculousness. It is by far the best introduction to International Relations for KS3 I have ever done. I’ve also used it for Year 10 studying International Relations pre WWI and it worked very well. This is a KS3 lesson for Y7/8 and has quite a high challenge/ stretch and challenge for more able pupils. It follows on from my lesson on Henry VII and his problems and solutions and is best used with the attached glossary of key terms. It also addresses many of the misconceptions about Henry as a fat tyrannical ruler that we know he became later in his reign and looks at the optimism of a young Renaissance Prince- handsome and youthful in stark contrast to his father,

Lesson for Edexcel Politics ALevel Introduction and Overview to Feminism lessons- this is a double lesson plus note making for homework on Feminism and its development over time. Begins with looking at issues facing women in the 21st century e.g. female genital mutilation, rape and sexual assault, gender pay gap, violence against women and girls etc- students discuss and swap articles and then the lesson develops from there. Introduces some of the key thinkers e.g. Perkins-Gillman, Wollstonecraft and Friedan as well as Bell Hooks.

Edexcel GCSE Medicine Through Time This lesson looks at causes of/ symptoms of ill health and injuries in the trenches linked to weapons studied in lesson 1-- Battles. This source based lessons has students looking at evidence / information to find out about specific illlness/ injuries and the issues around it. Also has a match up exercise on who treated the sick? This introduction lesson is for teaching of OCR Thematic ALevel course Rebellion and Disorder under the Tudors. It contains everything you need to get started teaching this brilliant ALevel course. I have replanned this lesson 3 times and now I’m happy with it. Lesson examines- the nature of thematic learning- the content and an introduction to rebellion with parallels to 2022/ 2023 context. How effectively does Congress fulfil its role of Representation in the USA? -Includes up to date examples and video links of AOC, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Marco Rubio etc. Very detailed- explains concepts of gerrymandering and pork barrel politics, incumbency advantage, caucuses etc. Lesson lasts around 2hours as I teach in doubles but can be broken down into smaller chunks. This mega 2 hour lesson plus hwk examines how powerful the POTUS in the USA is for the key debate to end Topic 3 Includes retrieval of past knowledge re: President, note taking and discussion about unilateral actions of POTUS and limitations of these. Discussion/ ranking task of factors which can hinder/ help a POTUS achieve aims and a debate/ table of arguments about how imperial a President is alongside the discussion of whether a President may be described as Bifurcated. Also includes a colour code sheet for homework and a comparative task to prepare them for thinking about comparison to Prime Minister. Please note PNG images are for illustration only.
