I produced this unit as a whole Tudor Day. I have included the PowerPoint that saw me through the day and the day plan. There are a number of resources referred to: 1. Family Tree 2. Walk round Tudor England 3. Speed Dating 4. Henry VIII on trial. The additional resources are included. This was delivered to a group of very able Yr 5-6s, but would also be suitable for Yr 7-8s.

The Observations PowerPoint works through the whole lesson - explaining and prompting where activities follow. It works through looking at the methodology with clips, a case study booklet and the book (we use the Orange Rob Webb Book). Ideas are recorded on the sheet. I have uploaded the clips on YouTube - https://youtu.be/_KjLh9N16hk https://youtu.be/yw9vjSMRyLA The Past Questions sheet gives an idea of how the questions are set and the opportunity to try some. There is a peer marking activity and also guidance and practise of the 10 marker. Homework is provided. The Tick sheet is used to help students organise their folders/notes.

Flipped Learning: Staff Presentation/Training

I was asked to put together a presentation for staff to explain what Flipped Learning is, the importance of it and give some examples of how to use it. The PowerPoint does just that! This was followed up with further training sessions relating to Stretch and Challenge, which I am a Lead Practitioner for and use Flipped Learning as a strategy to develop this. Please feel free to contact me if you would like further explanation of any activities or further examples. The final data collection sheet I give as an example - is one that has been used in a training session I have attended. It has no copyright and I do not know who to credit it to.

I began Psychology Film Club as an enrichment activity. It took off and turned out to be a good idea. Students can bring popcorn, and you could introduce gold cards for regular attenders. I have included a list of films and their links to part of the course (watch the age category obviously). I have also included the various posters advertising film club,

Personal Life and the Family

(1)
This deals with the new section in the AQA GCE AS/A level Spec (2015) for Paper 2 Topics - Personal Life and the family. Both info and activities to get students thinking, ending with an example of how students may be assessed in this area.

Families & Households Revision Booklet Activity

Families & Households Revision Booklet Activity

(4)
Students were set the task of designing a revision booklet - working together on this as a group activity. The Revision Booklet Doc - 'Their instructions&' suggested all groups follow the same format, so that the end product had common themes. The other docs &';Diversity, Divorce & Conjugal Roles sections' are examples of what some groups produced. Students obtained the &'Possible Questions&' from past AQA papers and questions suggested in the AQA text. This resource/activity was used for SCLY1. It is still useful for the 2015 AQA spec, but would need to have added the personal life of the family and a revamp of the question structure.

Meet the Contestants! Who should be king in 1066?

(7)
Activity to encourage students to consider who might have been king in 1066 - who had the best claim, who was most popular etc It worked well with the PP. Once the lesson was completed, students had the opportunity to can their voting slips, many did and were able to explain how and why their views had changed.

GCE AQA Sociology: Methods - Concepts and definitions (7191/2, 7192/1, 7192/3)

I used this after tracing methods as a review/revision exercise. I printed the concepts on one colour paper and the definitions on a different colour. So it was a Pairing exercise - group activity. Students all receive a card and had to locate their partner/pairing. I've used the ‘online time-bomb' when using this activity with my students, to create the pressure of time! It's a nice starter to the revision season! This is followed up with a written activity (word doc which tests recall/knowledge) I have a range of other resources uploaded covering methods.
