Russian: verbs of motion (prefixed & unpredicted), use of ГДЕ?, КОГДА?, Accusative Vs Prepositional
This 21-page activity book provides a variety of exercises to help
-practise and differentiate between uni- and multidirectional verbs of motion (e.g. ходить/идти, ездить/ехать) in all tenses
learn and practise the use transitive verbs of motion (везти/ возить, нести/носить)
learn and use a variety of prefixed verbs of motion
practise the use of Accusative case with verbs of motion and differentiate between Accusative and Prepositional cases
use of Prepositional case with means of transport
use question words Где? and Куда?
use of Genitive case after ‘нет’
-noun endings in Genitive singular and plural case
The exercises include:
-multiple choice
-matching pairs
-filling in gaps
-writing the correct ending/verbs
The exercises can be further adapted, for example discussing the pictures:
-asking to describe a picture using a specific word/words,
asking for student’s opinion on the pictures
-changing uni directional verbs for multidirectional in a sentence and vice versa
-asking to name 5 things in each picture
-students could say (where a sentence/picture allows) how often they do the actions from a sentence/ when was the last time they went somewhere
-guessing which picture is being described
The exercises could be used for a pick revision at the start of a lesson as well as homework once the theory has been explained.
Appropriate for GCSE and A1-A2 level.

Russian: house, interior, art, design, like/dislike, Prepositional case
This 13-page resource contains 7 pictures by modern and impressionist artists and 6 vocabulary exercises. Each picture is accompanied by 10-15 questions to encourage speaking.
The resourse is appropriate for Russian GCSE (my home subtopic) and can be used for a higher level students with teachers’ support.
The questions provided with the pictures help practise such grammar/vocab topics as:
use of Prepositional case to denote location and position
use of such verbs as стоять, лежать, висеть, ставить, вешать, класть
words to describe interior
a variety of adjectives to describe a room
expressing likes/dislikes in regards to the picture
practice of subjunctive mood (e.g. ты бы хотел жить в таком доме? Что бы ты изменил в этой комнате?)
The questions can further facilitate a discussion on a wider topic of art, style, artists, etc.
There are also exercises to practice vocabulary 9mathich pairs, unjumbling words, word search, etc)

Russian culture and Hollywood
This 4-page resourse is based on a 10-minute video about Hollywod actors and their ‘love affair’ with Russia - actors with Russian ancestry, actors that have business interests in Russia and those simply in love with the culture and language.
The worksheet contains:

-vocabulary exercise before the video to tackle tricky phrases
comprehension exercises
-grammar exercises (case use, prepositions).
The worksheet can also be used for further discussion.
Possible ideas:
what actors do you consider to be most talented
-which films of those actors have you watched
