Show a list of jobs and get the students to choose two of them to research and explain which they would rather do when older. The first slide is well structured and the second is less structured for more able. The third has a list of Science related jobs but obviously you could give a list of any jobs. Add this to the back end of your PPT to remind you to check the classroom for tidiness as well as what you are expecting from the students with a sanction if insufficient. A good routine can help with behaviour management. Especially if the students know there will be a consequence if they don’t do enough.

Use this sheet to focus students through a video of any length and give a chance of assessment. While watching the video students come up with 10 (or more if you add rows) questions and write the answers on the back. After watching, they swap and answer each others quizzes, hand them back and get them marked. There is space for feedback as well. I never let students watch videos without a purpose and as this is generic it can be kept behind the desk as a back up.
