Over a decade of teaching experience to KS3 and KS4 secondary school pupils, of varying needs and abilities, and 8 years as a Director of Learning for Science. My resources have been produced with passion for the job that I do, making the subject accessible and relevant to all. The majority of my PowerPoints are designed to incorporate successful strategies from Doug Lemov's Teach Like A Champion. I hope my resources will save colleagues precious time in the planning of their own lessons.

This document includes a series of commonly asked questions at GCSE (as well as mark schemes), edited to change scenarios and allow for printing on as fewer pages as possible. Can be used for revision or as weekly homeworks.
Questions focus on key concepts/essential content assessed across all three Science disciplines. Such as:
Free body force diagrams and acceleration
Core practical (acceleration)
Energy resources
Enzymes
Core practical (osmosis)
Bonding and classifying substances
Calculations involving masses
Note: If you would like to track pupils’ performance in relation to content over time, my ‘Key concepts in GCSE Science’ bundle can be used alongside a Question Level Analysis of your class(es) on Edexcel (i.e. RAG rating performance in different areas over time).
This PowerPoint contains the full unit of lessons for ‘Bonding and Classifying Substances’ (Chemistry) - 9 lessons and 105 slides in total.
Ionic bonds
Ionic lattices
Properties of ionic substances
Covalent bonds
Covalent bonding - more covalent molecules
Molecular compounds and their properties
Allotropes of carbon
Metallic bonding
Bonding models
All lessons have been designed using key ideas from ‘Teach Like A Champion’ and therefore include:
An initial ‘Do Now Activity’ (with answers included)
Learning Outcomes and Key Knowlegde (with additional references to where the learning fits into careers etc.)
Lots of exam practice (with modelling as part of Guided practice)
Key Learning points highlighted
Knowledge checks throughout
Summary task
All slides can be easily edited to suit the requirements of your school/academy if needed.
Note - most images used on slides are from various online sources (including Pearson Active Learn).
This PowerPoint contains the full unit of lessons for ‘Fuels, Earth and its Atmosphere’ (Chemistry) - 11 lessons and 130 slides in total.
