This worksheet is based on the Amazon Prime documentary GMO OMG
It investigates the involvement of food giant Monsanto and their questionable practices.
How do GMOs affect our children, the health of our planet, and our freedom of choice? And perhaps the ultimate question, which Seifert tests himself: is it even possible to reject the food system currently in place, or have we lost something we can’t gain back? These and other questions take Seifert on a journey from his family’s table to Haiti, Paris, Norway, and the lobby of agra-giant Monsanto, from which he is unceremoniously ejected. Along the way we gain insight into a question that is of growing concern to citizens the world over: what’s on your plate?
The Super Bowl is a rare television event where the audience is actually willing to watch the commercials which has turned it into a championship of advertising. The cost of running an ad during the Super Bowl has continued to increase while viewership has started to fall off. Despite that, advertisers still say it is worth it and that the value lasts longer than the game.
This 5 minute video and worksheet investigates the Super Bowl and why it has become a key place for advertisers.
There is also a answer sheet that gives the key points from the video.
This is a Business Studies Challenge by Two Teachers for students to create a cereal brand and product. It is part of a nationwide challenge but can be edited and used independently.

The video covers 3 types of organisational structure; hierarchical structure, flat structure and matrix structure. They are all shown in the form of an organisational chart.
Businesses use organisational structures to illustrate job roles and responsibilities. Organisational structures show who each employee reports to in their job and depending on an organisation’s size, vision and requirements, the structure type will vary. In this video we cover 3 types of organisational structure, the features of those structures along with some advantages and disadvantages of using that particular structure.
There are a few key words that are important to understand before looking at an organisational chart. These are;
• Span of control. This is the number of employees that a manager has responsibility for
• Chain of command . The route by which instructions and communications flow from the top to the bottom of the business, it shows who answer to who
• Subordinates. This is basically members of staff that work for a manager, they under that managers span of control and are below them in the chain of command.
The video covers each of these in detail and is great for GCSE revision or A level and BTEC business.
If you want to apply your new found knowledge of organisational structures then the activity worksheet has a word search on the key words from the video and then questions surrounding the content covered. It has a section for students to create their own organisational chart.

In order to make a business as effective as possible it is vital that the business chooses a suitable location that will have the most positive impact on the business. This video covers the factors that impact where a business decides to locate and the implications of that decision.
There are three key in influences on where a business decides to locate. These are:
● Proximity: how close does the business need to be to… the market, labour, materials and competitors. The business needs to decide which one of these is most important to the business.
● Next is the nature of the business activity. What does the business do? is it in retail, a service or manufacturing. We will look at why these would impact the decision of where to locate next
● The final influence is the internet. How does the internet impact on where a business decides to locate?… do they even need a physical location at all?
The video covers each of these in detail and is great for GCSE revision or A level and BTEC business.

The worksheet compliments the video and helps students apply the theory.
Regarded as one of the original motivational theorists. Clinical psychologist and pioneer of job enrichment, Fredrick Herzberg devised the Two Factor Theory of Motivation. This video will cover both factors and how they have been applied at Google.
In his research he asked employees to state the things that were good and bad at work. He discovered the things that made people satisfied at work were completely different to the things that made them dissatisfied. This prompted Herzberg to propose the two factor theory of motivation.
The first set of factors he called Hygiene factors: These won’t encourage employees to work harder but they will cause them to become dissatisfied if they are not present.
The second set of factors are Motivators: These are factors that can encourage employees to work harder.
