This is a comprehension task regarding the Vikings.
For each question they complete accurately, they get to save 1 of the Viking horde from the group at the bottom of the page.
This is a 4-page script for The Lion King. It’s for a performing arts event for the musical theatre section.
I wrote the narration in verse, and included two songs: Be Prepared and I Can’t Wait To Be King.

A cute, dragon-themed multiplication activity using the grid method. Focus on 2 digit x 2 digit numbers, with a challenge to extend high-ability children. Answer sheet included.
I’m currently teaching a How To Train Your Dragon unit, and this activity is to contextualize math skills for the children. This product would be great for any book or class theme that is fantasy-based, or just for making your math lessons more immersive!
The children must solve nine 2 digit x 2 digit grid method multiplication questions and match the dragon with their appropriate egg.

Book Review worksheet concentrating on summarising, forming opinions and concluding on How To Train Your Dragon (Book 1) by Cressida Cowell.
In this book review, children are asked to summarise the main parts of the story, give their opinion on the story as a whole, state the funniest, scariest and favorite parts, rate the story from 1-5, explain if they would recommend the book, and discuss who their favourite and least favourite characters were.
This works great as a post-text exercise, and also works as a movie review if you are following the feature film instead. Reviewing books helps children know that it’s okay to like or dislike a book, and also allows them to work out what their favorite genres are.

Week 5 of 12- An exploration of daily life as an Egyptian slave, a merchant and a nobleman in the ancient Egyptian civilization. Children will create a daily schedule and engage in drama activities to immerse in the topic.
This product contains an 24-slide Teaching PowerPoint and 4 main tasks that can be printed or completed digitally via PDF copies. The PPT guides students through learning the key details about daily life as 3 different sects of society: Slaves, merchants and nobles. The first task sees children reading and understanding definitions of topical vocabulary, then matching them up to the words using the worksheets included in this pack. A pack of 4 chapter-based projects based on JK Rowling’s new book, The Ickabog. 20 activities (each with multiple tasks) that are grammar, punctuation, reading and creative themed.

JK Rowling has published her new children’s book, The Ickabog, online for everybody to enjoy whilst at home. She is also hosting an illustration competition for children to design her characters and setting- the winners will be published with the book in November 2020! Chapter 1 Project:
With 4 jam-packed tasks (each with multiple activities), children will work through the first chapter: drawing the main characters & settings, designing the famous Cornucopia pastries, finding definitions for tricky words and creating a fantasy map for the country.
Chapter 2 Project
5 tasks, made to be set daily, see children work through the second chapter of The Ickabog by JK Rowling: recapping what happened in the first chapter (setting, character, plot), making predictions for the future, identifying nouns, adjectives, verbs and adverbs in context.
Chapter 3 & 4 Project
Set across 5 tasks, children work through the 3rd and 4th chapters and are introduced to five key reading skills: inference, summary, questioning, comprehension and synthesis. Each task dives deep into each skill allowing children to access the text on a continually higher level.
Chapter 5 & 6 Project
Set across another 5, jam-packed tasks, children dive deep into understanding, recognizing and using apostrophes for both contraction and possession whilst working through chapters 5 & 6. The activities include conversion tables, spotting apostrophe errors in Chouxville shop signs and placing apostrophes before or after the ‘s’ depending on singular or plural possession.
