Journalistic writing is the style of writing used to report news stories in newspapers, television broadcasts, on radio and on the Internet.
In this lesson students will look at the features of newspaper reports from examples given and consider the audience of the reports.
They will look in detail at a newspaper report broken down into its sections to better understand how they are structured. Then they will plan and write their own newspaper reports using the supportive planning and writing frames provided.

In this lesson students will work towards the objective: *To recall and use equivalences between simple fractions, decimals and percentages, including in different contexts. *

In this lesson, students will learn about the adolescence stage of the human life cycle. They will learn that puberty is the process of a child’s body maturing into an adult body. They will learn about the different changes that boys and girls can expect and will then be quizzed on this new knowledge. An optional video link is also included to support understanding. In this lesson, students will work towards the objective: To be able to describe the movement of the moon relative to the Earth.

In this lesson students will focus on the question- why was Sparta so tough?
They will learn how Sparta was ruled and will compare this with Athens. They will learn more about the spartan warrior lifestyle through the presentation and video links and how boys were trained in the Agoge from age 7. They will also learn what a hoplite (Spartan soldier) wore and what role women and girls played in Sparta.
Their tasks will be to draw and label their own hoplite and then write a diary entry from the perspective of a Spartan, using the information they have learnt. Worksheets for these tasks are provided.
