Updates and improvements to Tes Portal

February has been a relatively quiet month in terms of visible improvements you’ll see in Tes Portal, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been working hard to make things more efficient behind the scenes. Here’s a whirlwind tour of just a couple of the things we’ve been up to...

Your pick of agencies on Supply Manager

Those of you that are well-versed in the wonders of Supply Manager will know that it’s possible to invite your most frequently used agencies to join supply booking. But the option to do this has typically happened towards the end of the booking process, which doesn’t feel very transparent.

Now, users of Supply Manager will be able to search for, find and/or invite their favourite agencies from their homepage. That way, they can make sure that the agencies they already trust can be part of this more efficient way of booking supply.

Other, behind-the-scenes gossip

Warning: This section is almost as juicy as the backstage tittle-tattle from the Oscars…

  • We’ve made some improvements to our jobs pages so that they’re ranked higher in Google. This means that your job adverts should get seen by a wider audience.
  • We’ve also enabled job-hunters to search for roles in more than one location. The fact that they can compare jobs in different areas means they are more likely to view jobs in other areas, which is great for advertising schools!
  • More generally, we’ve cut down on the number of filters in jobs searches so they match the kind of information in your job booking form. This means that the results of job-hunters’ searches are increasingly more suitable.

Help us test our brand-new staff retention tool

We’re still looking for schools to test Staff Pulse, our way of helping you retain your staff during the recruitment crisis. So, how does it work? Through a series of short, regular, anonymous surveys, you can get a holistic view of the way your staff feel about working at your school. You can then use this to consider the ways in which you might be able to encourage them to stay.

The product is available for free to the schools that test with us. All we ask is that you give feedback to help us to shape its future development. If you’re interested, please email us at research@tes.com.

That’s all folks! There’ll be plenty more where that came from next time.
