The subjunctive can be briefly introduced at IGCSE French level as students can be encouraged to implement more complex grammar structures in their writing in order to boost their marks further and is widely used as A-Level. Because the subjunctive can be used in so many different contexts and situations, I have devised its concept into various installments. This bundle includes the first eight installments of the subjunctive which are as follows:
Part 1: Regular ‘-er’ verbs and expressions of emotion

This resources exclusively explores negatives primarily used in the perfect tense and some examples in the present tense. It is also Christmas themed.
As a starter / warm-up activity, ‘ne … pas’ is revised and this is introduced at Key Stage 3 level.
Next, get the students to read the cartoon examples and then get them to answer the questions which follow.
There is a subsequent quiz which follows and then differentiated follow-up activities. The answers are also provided on the subsequent slides.
For the bigger picture, get the students to write down responses to the cues in the conversation and then they can convert the conversation into a comic strip in which they can add some more detail to the conversation by more questions being asked to which the responses require a negative.
There is also a wordsearch that the students can do as a plenary or as an extra activity and there are also colourful visual aids contained with this resource. Feel free to put them up in the classroom as you teach the topic!

This resource ultimately explores the use of the question words ‘lequel’, ‘laquelle’, ‘lesquels’ and ‘lesquelles’. There are plenty of examples and subsequent follow-up differentiated activities such as speaking practices, quizzes and written activities.
It also revises and reinforces other grammatical concepts such as demonstrative adjectives and demonstrative pronouns.

Welcome to the second installment of learning about the rooms in the house.
This installment is about the dining room and associated objects.
Go through the powerpoint reviewing the previous learnt vocabulary and then introducing the prepositions first. Next, introduce the dining room with the associated objects. There is a subsequent quiz with differentiated questions.
There are differentiated workbooks available.
Level 1 (Niveau 1) - Lower level
Level 2 (Niveau 2) - Higher level
Get the students to colour in the things in the dining room and the prepositions and unscramble the words on the first few pages of the workbook. Next, cut out and stick in the pictures of the images featuring the masculine words and the feminine words. Then, the children need to complete the missing words by choosing the words below. The next few pages contains the listening tasks. Play the attached recording and the children then answer the questions. Then, the children need to draw the dining room, according to the instructions. On the last few pages, they complete the spot the difference activity and then complete the wordsearch.
There is a bingo sheet available which could be used as a plenary or the starter of the next lesson.

This activity contains a large number of activities subjecting to a French Christmas. There is also a story in this activity about a little girl named Yvette and the story starts off in 1985 when she is 8 years old. She got a visit from Santa and an elf. The elf asked her to make a wish and her wish was granted by the magical elf which carried her off into the future 32 years later. Her thoughts of all of this, just only being a dream, had more to be desired for. A very overwhelming story but a happy one.
Students can start off the activities by becoming acquainted with the vocabulary by colouring in the pictures and then searching for more complex vocabulary in the story before reading it. While they are reading the story, there are spaces in the story where learners can write in the missing scenes and then draw them. They can be imaginative and creative as much as they like! After reading the story, learners have a choice of differentiated questions. The choice is up to them, which ever level they feel comfortable with.
This activity is geared towards learners whose native tongue is French and also Key-Stage 4 students who are following the standard curriculum as it contains a wide range of verbs in the perfect tense such as transitive and intransitive verbs and reflexive verbs in the perfect tense. There are also examples of the imperfect tense in the story.

This powerpoint introduces the days of the week in French to learners for the first time or it can be revision. Not only are there numerous activities with differentiation to reinforce one’s learning, but it also incorporates other elements such as birthdays, years in French, other vocabulary relating to time such as ‘aujourd’hui’, ‘demain’, ‘hier’, etc age and numbers. Hello and welcome to the first edition of the food shops in French!
The first edition is about at the sweet shop (à la confiserie)
The children will learn about different sweets in French and there are a lot of activities which reinforces and consolidation of the vocabulary. They will also leanr about the verbs ‘je veux’, ‘tu veux’, ‘je vais’, ‘tu vas’ and the preposition ‘de’ There are also differentiated stories which the children can read and answer questions on. Accompanied with the powerpoint, are differentiated workbooks with lots of activities and a colourful classroom display of the partitive and quantitative articles ‘de’.
The level 1 workbook is the lower level workbook and the level 2 one is the higher level one. In both the lower level and the higher level workbooks, the children will learn about the partitive and quantative article ‘de’. In the higher level workbook only, children of higher level ability will become acquainted with terms such as the prepositions ‘y’ and ‘en’.
In the workbooks, the activities are as follows:
Pages 2-8 (2-10 in level 2) - colour in the pictures (which children love doing!!)
Pages 9-27 (11-29 in level 2) - cut out the squares and paste them onto the masculine, feminine and plural partitive and quantitative article pages
