Year 1/2 Fruit and Vegetables: A seven week lesson plan and worksheets which include activities for looking at fruit and vegetables, making coleslaw, designing and making a fruit salad and making soup. Year 3/4 Money Containers: A seven week lesson plan and worksheets which include activities for designing, making and evaluating a money container. Two photostory presentations show examples of the work completed by the pupils.
These resource materials offer an introduction to the understanding of key signatures at AS level. There are 10 downloadable worksheets and answer sheets, also interactive activities for introducing key signatures. All worksheets are available in SCORCH format and can be printed to be used as individual tasks. An interactive markbook with sheets to track behaviour, attendance and mark for year 7 (although the resource could be easily adapted to suit other year groups). The mark sheet allows for 3 assessments to be averaged using a weighted mean then levelled via percentage to a National Curriculum level. This resource pack is designed to teach the differences and similarities in working life between the past and the present over several lessons, or when needed. The pack is a visual stimulus to promote discussion and illustrates why jobs were different in the past. Clothing and tools are covered in more detail.
In this pack pupils should learn to:
* make comparisons about the way we live today and lived in the past
* discuss what life must have been like in past times
* describe the jobs needed in the past, and today
This resource provides teachers with a range of stimulus for developing lessons for Black History Week. Each activity includes a biography of the famous person with accompanying group and thinking skill activities.
The first activity shows a completed hand puppet that teachers can discuss and disassemble on the whiteboard and then reassemble with input from the pupils.
The second activity involves a virtual needle game where teachers or pupils have to sew online! The second screen allows pupils to create patterns using the stitching technique and choose different coloured threads.
When using the resources teachers should introduce and discuss the following words and concepts: template, fabric, sewing, needle, running stitch, puppet, seam, stitch and thread.
