French Verb Être Puzzle Activity - Present Tense Conjugation
Students of all ages will enjoy putting this French verb être present tense puzzle together. Divide your students into small groups and give each group a photocopy of the puzzle.
Have them cut out the squares, mix them up, and put them back together again matching the French subject pronouns to the conjugated verbs.
Once they’ve done it a few times you could have a class competition to see which group can put the puzzle together the fastest.

French Connect 4 Game - ALLER - Present Tense
This is a fun, quick, and easy way to have your beginner students review aller in the present tense.
In order to win, students connect four boxes by filling them in with the correct conjugations of the verb aller, which is listed at the bottom of the game board. Subject pronouns are listed on the left.
Students take turns filling in boxes until four are connected. At this point, they can check their work using the answer key provided. If any of the conjugations are incorrect, the game continues. Full instructions are included.

French Adverb Exercises - La Formation des Adverbes et Les Adverbes de Manière
These French adverb worksheets can also be used as a quizzes.
There are 3 worksheets included with answer keys.
Exercise 1: In the first section, students read a sentence and fill in the blank with the adverbial form of one of three adjectives they see in parentheses. In the second section, students transform adjectives they see in French to the adverbial form. In the third section, students must translate adverbs they see in English to French.
Exercise 2: Rewrite sentences replacing underlined adjectives with adverbs.
Exercise 3: Rewrite sentences using the adverb in parentheses placing the adverb correctly in present tense and passé composé sentences.

20 task cards - cartes à tâches- for practicing the French passé composé with être and avoir. Students can work cooperatively or individually. Each card features a sentence with a blank to fill in with the passé composé. Students are given the infinitive form of the verb that must be conjugated in the passé composé. Answers are provided on corresponding numbered task cards so that students can easily check each others answers.
Regular, irregular and reflexive verbs are included in this activity. Print, laminate and cut out these task cards and use them over and over. Look in the upper left corner. I've indicated where you should punch a hole in each card in case you want to attach them with a ring.
Playing French TABOO is a great way to get students to speak French and learn a lot of new vocabulary. This game is simple to modify and use with beginners and advanced students alike. The them of this TABOO game is L'ÉTÉ. 30 French-English cards are included. There are 2 fun ways to play this fun vocabulary game and both are explained in the instructions.
All of the words on the cards are in French and English. This is very useful as many of the words will be new to students.

Object of the game:
One player tries to get his teammate to guess the word at the top of a card. The player must give clues, but he can't use any of the Taboo words in his description. The taboo words are written beneath the word at the top of the card. Teams score points for each word successfully guessed. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.
Beginner students should be allowed to use the TABOO words printed on the cards. This will encourage them to use new vocabulary and will help them in forming sentences to use as clues.
French Doctors and Hospitals Scattergories Game - Chez le Médecin
This is a really fun activity to play with your students as they practice and build their doctors and hospitals vocabulary in French. Le Petit Bac - Scattergories sera le jeu parfait! You can play this game with students of any age or level, and it's perfect for both core and immersion curriculums.
Players attempt to create answers for each of the four categories on their game. This should be a fast moving game and there are only spaces for six words per category. The MAXIMUM they can write is six words so they have to choose them wisely. Students can be creative and flexible with their answers, but other players can challenge them!
12 games are included with 48 different categories! You can either print out the game sheets or project them to save paper and ink. For younger students you can allow more time for them to think and write, while older students will love the challenge of the timer.

While teaching your students regular ER verbs in the present tense, they will have a great time practicing with this hands on game: QUEL DOMMAGE!! This is a review game in which the sentences are written with the infinitive form of verbs in parentheses. Students have to restate them using correct conjugations in the present tense. An answer key is provided so that students can check their work as they play. You could easily modify the game to be played in the passé composé or other tenses. Detailed instructions are included so that even when you need to have a sub, your students can practice regular ER verbs.
All you have to do is print the game cards on heavy paper or card stock and cut them out. If you laminate them you'll have a no prep activity ready to go for years to come! Put all of the game pieces in a box and divide your students into small teams. Give each team gets a box of questions and a copy of the answer key.
Students must replace the verb in parentheses with the present tense conjugation and say the sentence correctly. When they are correct, they get to keep their game card. However, when they draw a QUEL DOMMAGE card they have to put all of their game cards back in the box. The student with the most game cards at the end is the winner.
