The first part of this power point looks at the historiography of Henry VII’s consolidation of power through a class debate. It then goes on to consider A level essay writing. The last part starts looking at how Henry VII started to reduce the power of the nobles to help him further consolidate his power. There is also a resource which provides a useful diagram of Henry’s government structure. This contains the 3rd 5 lessons of the AQA A level unit 1C and should be taught in combination with the official AQA text book, but could also be used for another examination board.

It is stepped in difficulty starting with very simple ways of identifying cause and consequence; moving onto evaluating causes and culminating in mastering GCSE questions on causation. There are a range of activities varying in difficulty. It was made for GCSE history however is also suitable for key stage 3.
