It may not be the catchiest of titles, but it is certainly one to attract the attention of any teacher worried by boys’ underachievement in English - and that is pretty well everybody teaching English.
The book is thoughtfully structured, witheach photocopiable activity being accompanied by comprehensive teacher’s notes on the learning aims, how to deliver the activity in the classroom, assessment targets and suggestions for extension actvities. It is a great pity, then, that the activities themselves tend to be limited in substance and in the kind of structure which will develop skills and confidence.
