Tattoos make a credible hulk

A TATTOO-covered hulk called The Scary Guy is coming to an assembly near you, and he wants to hug your pupils.

The imposing character from Tucson, Arizona, will tour schools in Britain this month to teach pupils the importance of love. Earl Kaufmann, 48, has 85 per cent of his body covered in tattoos. He changed his name legally to The Scary Guy in 1998 after being upset by a newspaper ad vilifying “scary guys with war-paint tattoos”. A camera crew from Richard and Judy will follow Scary on his tour.

His normal act includes a soothing harp performance by his wife Julie followed by lots of hugging and simple words of wisdom such as: “Always resolve conflicts without fighting”. His main message? “We all have skin, so stop looking at it and judging it.” Only a handful of schools have so far signed up for a visit between May 24 and June 7. To book himfor free, email guy@thescaryguy.org.uk
