Last week’s TESS feature, “The unstoppable rise of Teach For All”, generated heated debate in the education Twittersphere. Supporters and opponents of the UK model, Teach First, and its US equivalent, Teach For America, were keen to have their say.

I was once a bubbly, happy- go-lucky girl until I began the hardest phase of my life as a Teach For America teacher in Houston, Texas.
