A host of celebrity guests are expected to attend the country’s first “Hay-style” festival of education. Around 70 leading figures from the worlds of education, culture and entertainment will attend the event on July 3 and 4. One of the highlights is expected to be feminist thinker Germaine Greer taking on former Sun editor Kelvin MacKenzie in a debate over the value of education. Phillip Blond, the Conservative philosopher who inspired the concept of the “big society”, will also attend, along with comedian Rory Bremner and journalist Toby Young. The event will be held at Wellington College in Crowthorne, Berkshire.
