A study of quotes from both characters and what others say about them

A gap filling exercise taken from the famous video ¡Qué difícil es hablar el español! The aim is to raise students’ awareness that there can be confusions. Further aim: to bring their attention to the wealth of Spanish-speaking cultures

Study of two characters- What they say about others, what others say about them. Quotes included.

The interest of those little texts is a) to save you some time and b) to be able to give one each to a class (there are 22 of them) and get the class to practise questions leading to such tasks such as “find a person who has one brother” etc… Various lengths to differentiate around your class.

Mostly images and names. Students can look for the ingredients, can be a cross-curricular experience.

An easy -due to use of cognates- worksheet about the hymn El violador en tu camino, a movement that started in Chile last year (2019). Can lead to various discussions. Lyrics of the LasTesis hymn are also included.

The idea is to tell students they now work for the Ministry of Immigration/ Foreign Affairs/ the Home office. They are given a fake country name and they have to decide what will be/ won’t be allowed immigration wise, what laws or rules will be in place. A list of 14 questions they have to decide upon. This resource is based on the Studio 1 chapter on school. It starts with a couple of sentence builders using “on” and “je” It revises the time in French and is adapted to the lesson times in my school but can obviously be changed. Includes some l’/ le/la/les gap fill exercise and some multiple choice exercise based on the sentence builder. Suitable for Year 7 or as a revision tool in Year 8.

This is an ideal CLIL lesson. Students love volcanoes. Geology has lots of cognates. You can use this PowerPoint as a simple exposure to culture and French geographical features (the volcanoes of the Puy de Dome), you can also use it when you want students to talk about a visit in the past or the future.
