A simple but effective and ready to go worksheet to promote a group activity exploring who is responsible for the death of Eva Smith. After splitting your class into 5 groups, ask students to create their argument for their character by finding further quotations to support their point and adding them to the structured grid. Students can then share their ideas in a carousel style.

A worksheet for comparing quotations from Stave 1 and 2 of A Christmas Carol. Also includes detailed PowerPoints containing analysis of the key quotations in Stave 1 and 2. Students complete a mind map on each Stave with the PowerPoint guiding students through each section.

PowerPoint for 2 lessons on Poppies. Lesson 1 uses differentiated prompt questions to give students enough hints to allow them to be more engaged and independent with their annotations. Lesson 2 involves applying knowledge and developing deeper annotations. Lesson comes with success criteria, annotations, starter, plenaries. Lesson explaining how to answer a Macbeth question on the theme of guilt for AQA GCSE. Also includes a clear level 4 example response and a more thoughtful level 5 response so students can examine the difference between these two bands on the AQA mark scheme. Also includes worksheets for exploring the extract. Also includes a grade 5 model paragraph to assist lower ability students with writing about the extract and then moving to outside the extract.

A grade 9 exemplar essay to the 2018 AQA question on Romeo and Juliet which was as follows: Starting with this moment in the play, explore how Shakespeare presents relationships between adults and young people in Romeo and Juliet. (30+4 marks) Includes some examiner comment for A01, A02, A03.

I use these as final revision lessons for Lord of the Flies. I introduce 6 big ideas and ask students to complete a mind map by linking points, quotes and context to each BIG IDEA. They use my attached top 50 quotation sheet and knowledge organiser sheet to help them do this. I then model my answers for each BIG IDEA which appear one by one on the mouse click so you can talk through them. Also contains a detailed PowerPoint and accompanying worksheet for developing detailed grade 9 style explorations of key quotations covering the 5 main characters. Also contains a lesson or series of lessons covering how to plan a response on 6 main characters using a grid and 4 high grade exemplar responses. I have carefully selected what I consider to be the 5 key extracts from Stave 4 . They are differentiated by colour. Each extract has an AQA style GCSE question attached to it. This works well as a home and away task. There is also a grid for students to fill in to show their understanding of each extract. Also includes a revision PowerPoint which guides students on how to make a mindmap of the key quotations from the chapter.
