This is a thorough checklist covering all of the content of the Y12 and Y13 Stuart Britain and the Crisis of Monarchy 1603-1702. The format is based on questioning students so that they have to find out the information that they need rather than providing them with a description of events. My students have responded very positively to this extra challenge. In addition there is a column for students to tick completed sections that they have revised but an additional column to say whether they are confident or not with the topic. This has been used to highlight areas of whole class revision. Can be used with Y12 and Y13 classes.

Students often find it difficult to explain in their essays rather than describe. These activities focus on using the PEEL structure - Point, Evidence, Explanation, Link to the Question - to help students explain and use specific examples. Students are introduced to a starter question which then links into the extracts they will be analysing later to build confidence in content.
