Book Cover Analysis Worksheet This is a form that I use to analyse the covers of books so that Pupils can read before reading.

L/Os: To increase the range of ways you can start sentences, and use these to create example sentences about an image. To discuss the issue of school and further education and whether you think Chapel High should gain a Sixth Form. To know how to structure a speech and plan to write your own about this issue.

Emotional Intelligence Full lesson PP This is one lesson of 3 that I have uploaded from a PHSE unit that supported level 3 literacy learners in managing themselves and their bevaiour.

This is one of several powerpoint lessons that I have uploaded for the GCSE in psycholgy. The lesson is ready to teach with it's resources (if aplicable). Although, you will wish to adapt and differentiate for your own class. They can be taught together as on averview of the GCSE course, or by themselves. This lesson covers sex and gender.

Literacy Starter – All Types Of Punctuation These few slides can be added to the start of any lesson to use as a settler for when the pupils come into the room and to incorporate literacy skills into your lesson. This particular exercise is a text that pupils need to correct by placing the correct punctuation in place.

This two page worksheet works as a reference point to stuents - I usually get them to put it into their books at the back.

This is a series of 4 lessons put together to help students to understand how to perform at level 4 in the reading section of AQA GCSE Language Paper 1. Taught to students with Grade 6 targets, these lessons are pitched with the minimum expectation of achieving Grade 5 but they are differentiated upwards to ensure that the top level criteria (level 4 for 8/9) is introduced and deconstructed. There are stretch and challenge tasks in each lesson as well as specific differentiation strategies to secure scaffolding for students that need in-class intervention. All of the resources for each lesson are on the last slides of the ppt.

This is one of a series of lessons that I have created on the character of Havisham. We use the character for an AQA Speaking and Listening Activity and create a Jeremy Kyle style adaptation. This one gets the p[upils to analyse the poem so that they can inform their character judgements - also uses PEA chain practise.

This is a one off filler lessons that could be used to explore how mystery and suspense are created by writers.

Inform Explain Describe Travel Writing Lesson PP. This is a full lesson PP on travel writing that uses the Capelo acrynym to teach pupils how to write their own article - tied into KS3 APP framework with AFs but can easily be adapted to KS4 for exam.

Poetry Scheme of Work AQA Cluster 2 poems Lesson This is a series of 10 lessons that, although using all of the poems from Cluster 2, can be used with any year group to teach analysis of poems - and could even be used as prep for the unseen poem in the new Lit spec. This is a series of 10 lessons uploaded separately.
