This is another one of my schemes of work for year 9 that mirrors the skills needed for GCSE. In this scheme, pupils pick up the basics of poetry and analyse different poems. The reading assessment is about comparing the poems and then this leads to a writing assessment that starts at the end of the poems. Pupils then turn one of the poems into a moviemaker presentation and you can assess them for speaking and listening as they explain their image choices. Everything is together here.

Seaside – Types of British Tourism Lesson This lesson is part of the year 7 humanities curriculum that combines elements of History, Geography and Literacy. I have uploaded several lessons with the theme of seaside. They can all be taught together, alongside each other, or independently, as each is a standalone lesson on a different topic. This is a year 9 lesson. The images are all of my own and are my daughter when she was much younger. The idea is that pupils try to guess who the objects belong to and explain why - it's about using stereotypes to address a reader.

This is a lesson to structure the writing task mock - the teacher can go through both of the questions prior to pupils attempting them so it provides an opportunity for class planning / scaffolding before pupils attempt the mock.
