A resource based around the issue of sexuality and what makes a family unit. These activities are developed primarily as a speaking and listening resource but there are many opportunities for reading and writing also. All of the activities are based on the models outlined in the new Welsh Assembly Document ‘Developing Thinking’ with lots of opportunity for group work and fit with the new skills framework.

Learn to write and sequence instructions. This activity aims to encourage pupils to think of the need to carry out certain acts in a certain order. They will have to arrange a series of familiar activities into the correct order and will also get the chance to write their own set of instructions if the teacher deems this appropriate. This pack will address the following objectives: to sequence a set of instructions of a familiar activity to write their own set of instructions to think about the reader when creating their instructions

This resource pack revises the use of a thesaurus to choose appropriate synonyms and demonstrates how the choice of words can change the shade of meaning in poetry. Pupils can use the interactive activity to create their own concrete poem using a typical Welsh image as a background to build their poem upon and then print out the completed version. Alternatively the activity could be used for whole class demonstration before printing out backgrounds for the children to write their poem on.

These activities are developed primarily as reading resources although there are opportunities to develop written work using these text types as model exemplar. The activities are based on Literacy Strategy text types and they contain key questions which encourage pupils to explore language and write more open responses to reading. Packaging is a series of Powerpoints that form a Unit of Work that supports the teaching of Design, in particular Packaging. Packaging is aimed at developing the skills needed to understand the process of Packaging and how to design a suitable product that fits the needs of the consumer. The aim is for the pupils to study the process of packaging, use 3D shapes from nets, develop their own ideas and design a cereal packet.
