French GCSE Les vacances: Holidays present & past reading comprehension & translation
This is a standalone resource for whole lesson on holidays for GCSE. The worksheet focuses on honing reading skills and technique, recycling key vocabulary and translation on this topic. Knowledge of holidays in the present and past tense required.
Activities:
Decode the questions on which the reading comprehension will be based;
Read three short texts about holiday preferences & where the speaker went last year;
Revisit the questions decoded in (1) and decide ‘who says what?’, highlighting the evidence in the text as pupils decide;
A ‘vocabulary search’ of English words/phrases from the texts;
Decoding French sentences which recycle the vocabulary above (translation into English);
Translation into French - a reformulation task revisiting all the structures and vocabulary which have been seen in this resource.

French Environment problems - l'environnement
A standalone worksheet on the topic of the environment for GCSE French. It will support pupils to talk about the environmental problems which worry them and the actions they can take to protect the planet.
The exercises include recognising key verbs, deciding if actions are good or bad for the planet, sentence builders/ vocabulary lists with tasks to recycle the language, translation into French and an exercise on using the gerund.

Spanish School subjects / mi colegio / las asignaturas Translation Worksheet GCSE
A translation worksheet on the topic of school subjects / my favourite subject. Six different translation exercises which recycle the same key language and introduce new linguistic items in a scaffolded way. The exercises are ramped in terms of difficulty and final activity is a plenary translation task into Spanish.

Spanish Subjunctive - 20 structures for speaking & writing at A Level
A resource to help pupils increase their usage of complex subjunctive phrases in their spoken and written work. The resources introduce 20 key and recyclable subjunctive triggers, have some formation practice and also subjunctive sentences from all A Level topics which are easily transferable to any sub-theme. These resources scaffold pupils’ use of the subjunctive and will allow them to use examples confidently in their own work.

A worksheet to scaffold answers to ¿En qué quieres trabajar cuando seas mayor?. Pupils have to match jobs to justifications, there is a grammar gap-fill and also some short translations. This will give students the structures they need to answer this question in detail.

Spanish School Subjects Reading, Translation & opinions: las asignaturas
Resources for KS3/GCSE on the school subjects. There is a reading activity with 6 different sections to read and a comprehension task. There is a vocabulary hunt and then translation of sentences into English and Spanish.
The text introduces some more complex expressions (no sólo…sino también, tengo que admitir, me interesa) and also has a wide range of vocabulary.
There is also a Quiz Quiz Trade template for subjects & opinions, which can be adapted for more translation too.
