A lesson that explores the way in which we write about gender. Can be combined with the skills needed for Paper1.

This is a key skill for the new AQA Paper 1 Language (Q3) and therefore is challenging for pupils. The PPT is the full lesson.

There is a scaffolded worksheet and the presentation contains a starter, main, development and enough tasks to run over at least 2 lessons.

The lesson will stretch and challenge KS3 students whilst also exposing them to a wider variety of texts and will allow students to prepare for their English Language GCSE paper. This resource pack includes a full lesson(s) on how to analyse a key extract. This skill is now applicable for the new specification GCSE so it is important that KS3 learners are embedding this learning early on. I have found that this lesson worked well with a year 9 class, so it can be used for high ability KS3 learners. However, I have also found it could work as part of Paper 1A as a practice extract.

A bundle of extracts for students to use for revision or for you to scaffold a lesson from. Each extract has a specific AO1, AO2 and AO3 focus with highlighted sections to help. You can also removed the highlighted quotations for differentiation.

This pack contains a banner for a display that reads: Read, Dream, Create. Great for English classrooms.

A differentiated set of worksheets for students to complete as they analyse a key extract from Act 2:2. The students then discuss Romeo in the rest of the play using key quotations. Each box has a specific AO in reference to the mark scheme.

Each worksheet has an extract from the section of the play with a focus question. The boxes around each extract have a key AO focus (AO1/AO2/AO3) and some worksheets are differentiated. The questions cover a variety of characters and themes and are taken from key sections therefore allowing students to study the breadth of the text. These could be used together as a revision pack for year 11 students.
