This bundle contains key extracts from the play that are scaffolded to allow students to concentrate on language, context and inference.
Can be used to plan a full lesson if you were setting it as a full exam question or a piece of revision homework.

I have other resources for other parts of the course available in my shop: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resources/shop/reaton290
A series of posters that are useful for students wanting to ask more 'searching questions' in class. They could also be placed at the back of the classroom for reference points to ask the students challenging questions.
Lesson taken from the KS3 scheme (available on my shop: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resources/shop/reaton290).
This lesson explores the language used in the last chapter of the book and asks students to study how tension is created.
I have attached a full interactive lesson that focuses on Q3 of the reading paper. I have attached the treasure hunt that you will need to print off (colour) and a full exam paper.
These 2 lessons concentrate on a speech and on an extract from chapter 19 - Tom's testimony. There is an extract attached and a differentiated model response for students to use/analyse.
This pack contains a lesson with a differentiated analysis grid, the extract for analysis and a model response for students to use. A good lesson for high ability KS3 learners who are looking at GCSE skills/AOs studying the text or can be used as an extract for AQA paper 1 (you would need to remove the section regarding the wider novel if you were to use it this way).
This lesson was created for a high ability year 7 class. I have included the new English Literature AQA Assessment Objectives in order to expose the students to the objectives early on.
The lesson starts by looking at expectations of your first day at school and then a look at the opening lines (this section is differentiated). The reading section has a prompt question and then the worksheet attached includes the AO1 questions.
This scheme has been planned to introduce KS3 students to Chaucer and The Canterbury Tales. This is important as students need to experience texts from different time eras in order to prepare them for the new GCSE specification.
This part of the scheme includes full PPT lessons and all accompanying resources. In this part, the students will look at the following:
• Who was Chaucer? What is a pilgrimage? Discuss modern pilgrimage. Introduce Canterbury tales and pilgrim characters. Discuss class and stereotypes and examine quotations from the general prologue that discuss certain characters.
• Introduce the start of the general prologue of The Canterbury Tales – link back to language of ME. Look at purpose of a prologue. Students work to sort prologue using original version to scaffold. Understand what the story is about and demonstrate through an ‘explain what you learn…’ question and then create a reworded version of the prologue.
• Introduce description of the Knight (from general prologue). LA to look at modern translation and HA to look at original (alongside translation). Look at where in the class hierarchy he would fall.
• What is your impression of the Knight? Discuss quotations (translated for LA) and scaffold an Impressions Q.
