This is an activity where pupils cut out sugars, phosphates and bases and stick them together to make the structure of DNA and RNA. It can be used to illustrate nucleotide structure as well at the DNA/RNA Molecule.

This is a resource that I made for my GCSE pupils to allow me to grade their lab reports on a 1 to 9 scale. It shows features of all parts of a lab report from 1 to 9 (aim, prediction, variables, diagram, method, results table and analysis, conclusion, evaluation. This scale is not specific to any exam board; I made it roughly based on old coursework and APP criteria. This should make marking quicker as it literally includes one sentence per grade.

These are two spreadsheets I have made for tracking in KS3. One is by unit which allows you to put in NC grades e.g. 4+,4-,3 for various pieces of work in a unit aswell as effort grades (in my school this is 1 to 5). The other one is by criteria where you only put in NC grades for pieces of work for up to 6 criteria. At the end it gives averages for each criteria, the 6th one has a 50% weighting. With either spreadsheet just hide any columns that you don´t need. The golden rules sheet is something I made for the staff who had lass experience with Excel.

This is a differentiated sheet where pupils have to order or fill in blanks for instructions of how to use a microscope. The extension would be to write instructions without this resource. Page 1 has the instructions in the correct order, I put them next to the microscopes. Page 2 the pupils have to cut out and put in the right order, Page 3 Pupils have to fill in the blanks with words provided.

Pupils take coloured pieces of paper of each of the nutrients. they pass to stations for each part of the digestive system with instructions. They cut the fats, proteins, and carbohydrates with scissors labeled with names of enzyme. In the small intestine they push the pieces through holes in a box labelled blood. In the end they deposit the fibre in a toilet (i draw it on the desk). The second document is an evaluation of the model, i use it in KS3 to assess for AF1.

This 8 page long worksheet was made for last minute revision for IGCSE Coordinated Science for pupils to go over the formulas. They are mostly physics, but also biology for magnification and chemistry mole calculations. There is a space for them to write the formula, an example question and a space for them to do their calculations. I made this lesson to help my pupils improve their graph drawing and interpretation skills. It also helps them to understand the difference between correlation and causation. Here you have my planning document for a KS3 Respiration and Breathing Unit. I lead through a heart dissection with pupils dissecting hearts in pairs. They have to take measurements and compare left/right sides and arteries/veins filling in this worksheet. This leads them to write conclusions about the differences between left/right sides and arteries and veins.
