A resource that leads on from the Motif creation lesson, in this ppt students are guided through storyboarding process and asked to develop their initial motifs to create more material towards their workshop performance for COMP 3
This is a full PPT launch resource with Top tips, all grading criteria, explanation and definition of the stimulus and theme set by the exam board and lots of ideas/videos for students based on the COMP 3 task for BTEC TECH performing arts. There is also a research task for students to go away and complete.
This is a huge bundle with resources for the BTEC TECH AWARD Component 3. It includes:
A techniques lesson where students can use 4 different methods to create movement quickly.
Skills log prep theory lesson ppt with planning sheets, guidance and a paddy mcguiness themed peer assessment task.
Literacy Mat for skills log with guidance, key spellings, interesting connectives and space to add detail about the component 1 practitioners.
Rehearsal pack including personal management checklist, rehearsal schedule and meeting log and choreographic toolcards- to give students lots of ideas in rehearsal including methods of creating movement and ways to develop a motif.
This is part one of a CATS production route booklet that i have made for students studying the BTEC TECH route. The booklet features introductions, space for students to complete moodboard tasks and face plans to complete initial designs and make final choices for their work. There is also a section for them to research techniques etc and include photos of their attempts. This has suited some of my weakest students really well.
This SOW was created to meet the COVID safety guidelines whilst we teach Dance in a classroom.
The entire SOW is adapted so students are doing practical work at a desk throughout. Our y7 students have loved this BUT could easily be used for other ks3 year groups too!
We used the Spinners and Dice available from YPO as resources to accompany this although this could easily work with a home made spinner or coloured sticks etc.
This comes complete with a knowledge organiser, DO NOW task sheets and a full Dance Vocabulary Quiz for students to be tested on their knowledge.
It also comes with a bingo grid for students to track progress and for teachers to mark.
The booklet attached is for Performing arts so only the DANCE section (the first few pages is used)
This is an introduction to the new 2021 Component 3 brief for the BTEC TECH award in Performing Arts.
Designed for students to be taught and work remotely the ppt has an introduction to the 2021 brief, some top tips and three exploration tasks for students to begin their initial research/ideas generating.
This resource includes a few slides of information that students can use for inspiration for the Component 3 brief “Vantage point”
It also includes a Pitch sheet for students to complete featuring space for them to fully plan their initial ideas onto one sheet.
I will be then sharing all the pitches with the class for them to see who might have similar ideas to them before making groups.
This could also just be used as an exploration task and evidence generating for the component.
This is a lesson created for remote learning. It is the first in a series of work called DANCE THROUGH THE DECADES where students will study a range of styles from various era’s.
In this first lesson students are asked to study the CHARLESTON, they are given a brief to create a series of information sources for a new exhibition and the lesson focuses around the key stylistic features of the style through watching and writing about it.

This is a remote learning lesson based on breakdance, comes with Bingo style activities, extended writing challenges using PIE structure, a judging challenge where students vote for their winner in a break dance battle plus a practical challenge. Includes full powerpoint with embedded videos and a word document for students to fill out or alternatively to set as an assignment for them to add to live during the lesson.

This is like a mini component 1 over 4 lessons, students study the roles in dance including choreographer, dancer etc and then study 3 different pieces of dance

They analyse the key stylistic features of each one and learn how to write in BTEC style.
This resource is made predominantly for KS4 students who need to develop the skill of creating choreography from a stimulus for their Component 3 external exam.
In this lesson students play a fun game of BINGO, using stimuli in the grid to create an original choreography piece.
Could be used as a no hassle cover lesson, prep for component 3, fun introduction to BTEC lesson and more!

This is a SOW that has worked well with y7 but could work well as an introduction for any KS3 class
