GCSE Psychology lesson for the Edexcel spec. This lesson explores key information about the study and breaks the study down in to manageable sections. Students also have the opportunity to complete the Buss-Perry Questionnaire (downloaded from the internet, but I have attached it so you don't have to search for it separately). The questionnaire allows students to activity learn and understand how psychologists complete research. This lesson was originally taught as two 50 minute lessons but can be adapted to teach in one lesson.

GCSE lessons on Bandura. These lessons introduce the study - its aims, hypothesis, methods and results. There is also an evaluation task that requires students to draw on previous learning. A variety of activities (e.g. word fill, discussion, sorting) and lots of opportunities for progress checking (e.g. true/false, post its). This lesson can be taught as two but condensed down in to one lesson if needed. These can follow on from lessons about Social Learning Theory (see my resources).

Two GCSE Psychology lessons on Social Learning Theory (however can be tweaked in to one lesson if needed). Introduces what SLT is focusing on the key definitions and the main assumptions of the theory. Links to aggression in line with the Edexcel GCSE Spec. Tasks include X Factor style presentations, brainstorming, group tasks, individual learning and tasks that apply learning. This lesson is followed by another lesson I have planned and taught on Bandura (see my resources).

Two GCSE Psychology lessons to introduce the course. Lesson 1 is what is psychology? This lesson introduces the definition, the keys areas of study and how we perceive things differently. Explores why students want to study the topic with a team work activity. Lesson 2 is approaches in psychology. This lesson introduces the approaches in psychology. Team work and effective working is promoted in this lesson. These two lessons are perfect to introduce any GCSE Psychology topic. Could also be adapted for a brief A Level introduction lesson or a lesson to promote the subject.

Two Easter lessons suitable for all abilities at KS3. The theme running through these lessons is sacrifice. Activities link back to this theme. A good mix of AO1 and AO2 in these lessons, making links between the two. Students will learn about Holy Week and the significance of the events. Links are made to how Christians celebrate Easter and how the events of Holy Week are still important. Can be adapted to be taught as just one lesson.

A resource for the EDUQAS NEW SPECIFICATION, topic issues of good and evil. This lesson explores the different types of punishment and whether they are appropriate for specific crimes. This lesson provides students with the opportunity for discussion. It also links to previous learning about Christian views. It is suited for lower ability students, however can be tweaked or merged with other lessons on crime and punishment.

A resource for the EDUQAS NEW SPECIFICATION, topic issues of good and evil. The lesson aims to teach students about how offenders should be dealt with, types of punishment and evaluating these types. The lesson explore whether all crimes deserve the same punishment, this is a theme students consider throughout. The main activity promotes discussion and working with others to learn about the aims of punishment. This activity can be completed using textbooks/computers to support the weaker ability students.

A resource for the EDUQAS NEW SPECIFICATION, topic issues of good and evil. This lesson introduces crime, punishment and morality. It starts with exploring what crime is, why do people commit crimes and where does morality come from. This leads in to the main activities on Christian views about crime and punishment. This provides students with an opportunity to learn key Christian teachings and Bible quotes.

BTEC Applied Law for level 3 student. The presentations are aimed to provide students with knowledge of the law surrounding theft, robbery and burglary. Examples of case law are included in all elements of each crime. This allows students to understand the law through the use of real life examples.

Lesson 6 (final lesson) of a KS3 unit of work about religious journeys. This lesson includes an exciting start activity to link all of the previous lessons. The lesson then included detailed information about the assessment task (creating your own pilgrimage). This assessment is levelled. Can be adapted to suit schools who are not using the levels as each level is showing development of skills. An extension task is included. Designed for one lesson with time to finish for homework, however can be used over two lessons depending on class/lesson time etc.

Lesson 5 of a KS3 unit of work on religious journeys. The lesson follows on from the previous lessons or is ideal as a stand alone lesson. The lesson aims to teach students about pilgrimage to Hajj and makes links to other places of pilgrimage. The lesson introduces pilgrimage as one of the five pillars of Islam. There is a choice of tasks for students to complete (market place activity, watch clip and questions, or create own pilgrimage map). For the activity you will need information sheets about what happens on pilgrimage - sorry these are not something I have created but can be found on TES or you an use a Sue Penne textbook. Without the sheets the lesson can still be taught with the video clip and questions activity. The lesson ends with reviewing own personal journey and ties in the previous lessons. Lesson 4 of a KS3 unit of work on religious journeys. This lesson links to the previous lessons and the future lessons. This lesson aims to teach students about places of pilgrimage in Judaism (Western Wall) and Hinduism (River Ganges). This lesson is packed with lots of different activities e.g. questioning, reading, small video clip, word fill, map reading. There is also A02 opportunities for students to create their own prayer/wish/statement to take on their own pilgrimage. The lesson offers opportunities for students to apply their learning to tasks. Cross curricular links within the lesson (e.g. Geography). Also, students are able to make comparisons to other places of pilgrimage in order to join up their learning. Lesson 3 of a KS3 religious journeys unit of work. This lesson aims to teach students about pilgrimage with a focus on a pilgrimage to Lourdes. The lessons links to the previous lessons on religious journeys. This lesson includes a variety of activities that can be designed for individual, paired and group work. If time within the lesson there is an opportunity for students to learn about pilgrimage to Israel. The lesson has opportunities for A01 and A02.The lesson ends with a game to review learning. Students have loved this element of competition. Links perfectly to GCSE topics on pilgrimage and religious expression.

Lesson 2 of a KS3 religious journeys unit of work. This lesson aims to teach students about Christian baptism, its importance as part of the Christian journey and what happens at a baptism service. The lesson includes a variety of teaching and learning activities, for the main activity students have a choice of tasks depending on ability/behaviour/dynamic of the class. One choice of task is where students participate in their own baptism, this works so well with all abilities. The main theme throughout the lesson is encouraging team work amongst students. This KS3 lesson links to GCSE lessons. Also, can be adapted for primary school students.

Lesson 1 of a KS3 religious journeys unit of work. This lesson aims to introduce what a journey is and how life can be a journey. The main focus is students exploring their own journey and what their future aspirations are. The main activity is a fun and engaging activity with cross curricular links. This lesson is ideal for all abilities with levelled tasks. It is a KS3 unit of work that links to GCSE topics on pilgrimage and religious expression. Could be used for older primary school students.

A KS3 lesson where pupils learn the Christian beliefs about God. There is a main focus on the Omni words. The lesson includes a variety of activities that are engaging. One activity involves student learning the key beliefs through actions, this can also be adapted in to a written task to promote literacy. Another activity focuses on personal beliefs about God, exploring reasons for these beliefs. This lesson is a fast paced lesson, but can also be stretched in to two lessons to for mixed ability/lower ability groups or to include more exploration of the differing beliefs. A homework task is included to continue to learning from the lesson.

BTEC Applied Law lesson for level 3 students. This is a powerpoint that explains the law surrounding criminal damage. This resource is ideal for lower ability students or to introduce the concept of criminal damage. There are examples to the names of case law in order to support the points.

BTEC Applied Law lesson created for Level 3 students. The focus of the presentation is to provide information about funding in the legal system (e.g. legal aid, citizens advice). An element of the lesson is aimed at evaluation.

BTEC Applied Law lesson exploring the different types of alternatives to the court. This resource explains each type of alternative dispute resolution that BTEC students are expected to learn about. The resource also focuses on an evaluation of these alternatives, this is an excellent opportunity for discussion and exploration.
