Why did it cause a war of attrition? Why was the death count so high? This is a tracker for students to follow different news headlines and see how they are treated differently by rival media groups with BIAS- in this case I chose CNN and Fox News.

This resource can be used as an assembly or a display- it has video clip and interactive slides but they can also be printed as a narrative display to be read in sequence. Such an important topic and we need more education around it and why “all lives matter” narrative is not helpful or relevant. Interpretations of Henry VIII- was he a Tyrant or Renaissance Prince? This lesson is designed for KS3 but is quite challenging so could be used for GCSE. Detailed powerpoint on the Amicable Grant Rebellion and intro to Henry VIII rule including context and who his advisors were as well as key nobles who responded to rebellion under Henry VIII

These revision diagrams are filled in as knowledge organisers to use to help students plan out the answers to the 12 and 16 markers on the later slides. The first five are just knowledge and understanding ones almost like knowledge organisers but then the following ones are set up around 12 and 16 mark exam questions. (See pics) Medieval Medicine 1250-1500, Renaissance 1500-1700, Industrial 1700-1900 and Modern 1900-Present and WWI Western Front Ideas on causes Ideas on treatment Ideas on prevention Changes/ continuity and reasons for change. For the WWI section it is a little different with problems, solutions, reasons for change and key words/ battles. You could always remove the knowledge if you wanted students to complete them themselves.

These grids are to help students consolidate their knowledge in sufficient depth for their thematic essays. Some students in my experience rely on the same superficial evidence/ factual knowledge to write these essays and even though they are not to write in depth; it is important that they show off their expertise. One grid is from rebel perspective looking at aims, leadership, support, actions threat and one is from government perspective looking at government support, response, impact an reasons for decreased threat etc. Example modelled on the Cornish rebellion.

Assembly for Black History Month Based on the Little Mermaid debate and why it ignores the most important issues. Also includes two iconic British black heroes who represent this year’s theme “Time for Change…Action not words” Paul Stephenson Baroness Doreen Lawrence I have written up pretty much my whole delivery in the notes section for you- I did it without notes but this is roughly what I said Also includes a competition I ran this year which was really successful for students to research celebrate unsung black and brown heroes. We have had some fantastic responses and made it into a House Competition!

OCR Alevel 2022 Exam Paper detailed mock feedback powerpoint. This took me 4-5 hours to put together so should save you lots of time! Based on common misconceptions/ errors and mistakes. Can be adapted for other questions/ papers.
