Shelbu's Shop

Average Rating4.75
(based on 3 reviews)

I have taught science for the last 15 years in secondary schools. I currently work in a school that caters for students that have special educational needs and social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. I like to add to my shop any new resources I have made that have been successful with my own students.

Colour by Periodic Table Period

(1)
A science activity to help students navigate their way around the periodic table of elements. The students are to look for the chemical symbol in the diagram and find which period on the periodic table it belongs to, then colour the section accordingly using the colour key. This is a great activity for cover lessons for all abilities or can be used as an end of term treat. It is very useful to help younger chidren or lower ability or special education needs students learn their way around the periodic table and be able to recognise chemical symbols.

I am a red blood cell, where am I in the Circulatory system?

(0)
This activity helps students understand the pathway of the circulatory system. Students are to complete a cut and stick activity to match up descriptions of red blood cells to where they are in the circulatory system. This covers the lungs, heart, body cells, and the four major blood vessels of the heart. The students can then use the cards to produce a story board for “The journey of a Red Blood Cell through the Circulatory System”. This activity can be used for higher or lower ability students as higher level students can be challenged to add more detail into their story board.
