Get your learners to create their own Pride themed word search. **Instructions: ** The learner will think of 12 words that are associated with Pride. They will write these words in the grid boxes and on the lines below the grid. Following this, the learner will then fill the remaining grid boxes with random letters of the alphabet. Get your learners to swap their completed word search with a peer, who will then complete it.

This is a twenty-four paged booklet that I designed for adult learners who were completing a Level 1 City and Guilds Employability/ Personal Social Skills Course. This booklet is for the ‘Equality and Diversity’ module. All the questions meet the qualification criteria. As a tutor you can either go through the booklet page by page, using it as the base for your lesson plan or give the learners the book as a research project. I have created questions, scenarios and tasks for the following topics: Equality Diversity Stereotyping Discrimination ( Direct and Indirect) Prejudice Key Legislation against Discrimination Below are the learning outcomes for the lesson: By the end of the session all participants will : Define the term ‘equality’​ List the key legislation​ Give examples of inequality in a range of situations​ Identify bodies who work on equality issues​ Define the term ‘diversity’​ List the key legislation​ Give examples of positive and negative stereotyping​ Give examples of how diversity can benefit society.​ State the difference between discrimination and prejudice​ List the areas of discrimination covered by legislation​ Give an example of direct discrimination​ Give an example of indirect discrimination

Pride month themed Taboo game. The objective of the game is for students to have their team member guess the word that is on the board behind them. They can’t say the word itself and in some circumstances, other words that are listed in relation to this word. Complete with instructions on how to play the game as a class and 35 separate Taboo slides. Slides contain LGBT celebrities, terms and other things associated with Pride.

Get your learners to create their own Pride emoji. This can be a good introduction to Pride month as you can discuss the colours used on the emoji’s face and what they represent. These are the same colours used in the Pride flag. My learners created their own emojis to put on our ‘Theme of the Month’ wall display: Pride Month.

Pride Bingo Game. The bingo sheet contains symbols associated with Pride. Cut out the squares on the grid sheet and place inside a container. Give each player a bingo card ( this is a 5 player game).
