It’s just weeks until members of the further education sector will gather at the glitzy Grosvenor House hotel for the Tes FE Awards. The ceremony, which celebrates the dedication, hard work and success of colleges, providers, teachers and leaders, will take place on 20 March.
Adding extra sparkle to the night will be our host, the hilarious Julian Clary.

Clary is one of the country’s most-loved entertainers and his popularity has endured across a three-decade career in showbusiness. With a variety of credits to his name, he is not only a comedian but also a presenter, author and pantomime star.
He first rose to fame in the late 1980s, appearing on Friday Night Live and Trick or Treat as well as hosting his own gameshow, Sticky Moments with Julian Clary. He has since become a pantomime regular, having performed in one every year since 1998, and he is no stranger to reality television, coming third in Strictly Come Dancing in 2004 and winning Celebrity Big Brother in 2012.
In 2016, he toured with the The Joy of Mincing stand-up show throughout the UK, and last year, he hit the road again with Born To Mince. His colourful career has seen him become a Sunday Times best-selling novelist.
