There are no writing tasks, just discussion questions. It fits with the new RSHE or PSHE curriculum and is suitable for an assembly or whole school session.

This is a 10-15 minute tutor time session abour right wing extremism in the UK. It includes definitions, the names of groups and explains what the Prevent strategy is doing to try to prevent extremism. It focuses on discussion activities and includes the murder of Jo Cox in 1016 and mentions the recent Plymouth attack. There are two short video clips downloaded so they will never disappear. This can be used as an introduction to right wing extremism as part of the PSHE curriculum, an assembly for whole school secondary age pupils or can be easily added to in order to make a longer Citizenship session. It was originally a Year 8 tutor time resource for PSHE provision but can be used for KS3-KS5 (Years 7-13 Ages 11-18). There are no written activities in this presentation. It can be used for an assembly, a tutor time session, a whole school event or a PSHE lesson. It can easily be lengthened to last a lesson and has been used successfully with KS3, KS4 and KS5 (Years 7-13, Ages 11-18) however it is also suitable for Upper KS2. It contains definitions, information, downloaded videos about what it is and the transplant process. It has a quiz plenary to ensure pupils’ understanding.

There are no written tasks although it can easily be adapted to writing tasks and a longer full lesson. It was originally for a Year 9 PSHE tutor time session but is suitable for KS3, KS4 and KS5 (Years 7-13, Ages 11-18).

This is a 15 minute assembly or tutor time session for KS3 -KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13) which tackles the issue of suicide. It was originally a Year 10 PSHE session for tutor time. It includes why people commit suicide, what are the warning signs and what support is available to support people considering suicide or people who want to help someone else who is having suicidal thoughts. There are three short downloaded videos so they will never disappear and contains discussion activities and no written tasks. It would be easy to lengthen this issue to an hour with this resource using longer debates and written activities. This fits into the new RSHE and the PSHE curriculum and can also be used as a safeguarding session or a one-off whole school assembly.

This is a 10-20 minute assembly about the important issue of homelessness in the UK. It was originally a Year 8 tutor time PSHE session but it can be used as an assembly or easily lengthened for a whole PSHE or Citizenship lesson for KS3-KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13). It has two downloaded video clips that will never disappear and one centres around StreetLink and the other on homelessness in the UK’s second biggest city, Birmingham. It also includes: Why people become homelessness What can we do to help Number of homelessness children in the UK Streetlink & Birmingham homelessness video The students reacted very positively to this session and began a campaign to raise money for the homeless. This fits into the PSHE, SMSC, FBV and Citizenship Statutory guidance.

This is a 15-20 minute assembly on the role of an MP. It has some specific information about Birmingham but this can easily be adapted to include your own MP by following the website and instructions in the Notes section. This was originally a Year 10 Citizenship tutor time session but could easily be lengthened to last a whole lesson. It covers the definition of an MP, their role and tasks, the importance of democracy, the structure of parliament, what issues young people may be struggling with today and an introduction to ‘Make Your Mark 2022’ with the Youth Parliament. Students reacted very well to this presentation. It fits into the PSHE or Citizenship curriculums or can be used for a KS3, KS4 or KS5 (Ages 11-18 Years 7-13) assembly or whole school session on Fundamental British Values.

This is a 15 minute tutor time PSHE session about families. It is suitable for KS2-KS4 (Ages 8-16, Years 4 - 11, Grades 4-10) and can easily be lengthened to last a whole lesson. It fits in to the PSHE curriculum and the new RSE and Health Curriculum. It covers: Definitions of the word ‘family’ How families have changed over the years Different types of families Thinking and discussion tasks True and False Quiz to check learning and understanding 2 downloaded videos about types of families that will never disappear. This session was originally used as a Year 7 (11 years old) PSHE tutor time session and was received very well by over 400 students.

This is a 10-15 minute assembly about self-confidence. It was originally a tutor time PSHE session for Year 7 but is suitable for any short pastoral time with KS3, KS4 and KS5 students (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13). It has two downloaded video clips which will never disappear, discussion activities and tips to improve pupil’s self-confidence. It includes: What self-confidence is The difference between self-confidence and arrogance How self-confidence is shown A plenary discussion and two downloaded videos. This fits into the new Relationships & Health Curriculum and the PSHE and SMSC guidelines. Students responded well to this session.

This was a PSHE session for tutor time for KS3-5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13) which is 10- 15 minutes long and contains videos, discussions and important messages for students about different religious and cultural practices and diversity. This could be used as part of the diversity element of the PSHE and Citizenship programme or could be used as an assembly. The students responded well to this session. There are no written activities and it includes a quiz to check learning and two downloaded videos that will never disappear. One video is about religious festivals and the other about non-religious festivals. This session could easily be lengthened to create a whole lesson for RE on the importance of festivals.

This is a worksheet that contains the six main religious symbols, their places of worship and their symbols. It can be used for pupils to cut out, match up and stick in their books, can be printed on card to become a reusable match up starter activity or it can be used for display or creative work purposes. This is suitable for KS1-KS4 (5 - 18 years old) and can be used in tutor time as part of the cultural diversity part of the PSHE programme or as part of an Religious Education or Citizenship lesson. It is not in colour due to photocopying!

This is a 15 minute session which can be used for tutor time, PSHE, pastoral session or an assembly. It includes definitions, discussion activities, downloaded video, sources of practical support and ends with a quiz plenary. It covers what coercive control is, how pupils can recognise it and where to seek support. It is suitable for KS4 or KS5 (Years 10-13, Ages 14-18) students and explains the legal aspects of coercive control. It links to the new RSE and Health Curriculum and can be used in conjunction to my coercive control lesson also in my shop to create a whole unit on this important topic.
