This is a stand alone resource on the Perfect Tense in French which aims to help students understand how to form and use the tense through a logical, step by step approach. page 1 - common ER, RE, IR regular verbs and common irregular verbs in the infinitive and past participle form. page 2 - what does the Perfect Tense mean in English? Form the tense by doing a coordinates exercise. page 3 - use infinitives, past participles and the Present Tense of ‘avoir’ from memory. page 4 - form the negative of Perfect Tense verbs in French and learn which part of ‘avoir’ to use when subject pronouns are replaced by proper nouns. page 5 - revise common time expressions used with the Perfect Tense and do a reading exercise. page 6 - a display sheet which students can stick in their books to show them at a glance how to form the Perfect Tense in French. page 7 - put your knowledge to work and conjugate, gap fill and translate then mark your work from an answer sheet. The ppt. (which contains some fun elements) gives a very clear, straight-forward explanation of how to form the Perfect Tense of regular ER, RE and IR verbs in French. It starts from basics and gradually builds up the blocks which are used to form this tense. Many of the exercises on the ppt. complement those which appear on the 4 accompanying worksheets. . The 4 worksheets aim to help students improve their understanding and application of the Perfect Tense in French. The tasks deal with subject pronouns, the verb 'avoir', the formation of a regular 'ER', 'RE' and 'IR' past participle and the negative Perfect Tense. To demonstrate the Perfect Tense I have used the verbs and vocabulary from Module 2; Studio book 2. The ppt. and worksheets can also be bought separately. Please don't be put off by the preview image which looks as though lines are missing from tables. This is not the case with the actual resource which looks professional in appearance when downloaded.
