Unit 2 Self, family and friends (B - daily routine) - Edexcel International GCSE (9-1) Spanish

(0)
This resource includes a 136-slide ppt presentation I prepared to teach the new Edexcel International GCSE 9-1 for my Year 4 (10) group. As the textbook isn’t great, I created many extra resources to combine with working on the textbook. That includes introduction of new tenses, among others. What’s included: resources for Unit 2: Self, family and friends - at home and abroad, which at the same time includes activities for section: 2B Daily routine and helping at home --> subsections 2B.1 to 2B.3 are all included. I have different bundles available on my profile for each textbook topic.

Mira 3 - Module 5 - Units 5.1 El Mundo Hispano and 5.2 Mi vida diaria

(0)
A 40-slide ppt based on the Mira 3 textbook (rojo), “El mundo Hispano” (5.1) and “Mi vida diaria” (5.3) topics. It mainly focuses on Mi vida diaria, so you will find a lot more resources for this sub-unit than for el mundo hispano. Some activities have instructions and links at the bottom of the slide, please check them out. It includes a number of extra resources (grammar and reading comp., among others) that I created as the textbook doesn’t offer a lot. If you like this resource and are interested in purchasing the next topic which is environment, you’ll find it on my shop.

¿esto o lo otro? - this or that; spanish activity to practise speaking

(0)
Inspired on social media trends, this resource is made up of 5 sheets of paper with 60 everyday life items for students to practise comparisons. The idea is for students to first choose, in each instance, which item they prefer (e.g. sightseeing vs relaxing in the beach), then go through all of them together to have a more detailed chat. Items belong to a range of categories so that the conversations will touch up on food, holidays, seasons, etc. Activity is perfect to use as an ice-breaker or simply for general conversation.

introductions / presentaciones - 24 identity cards for oral production; Spanish beginners

(0)
24 different cards which include a character, their name, mood, age, birthday, where they live and number of pets they have. How to carry out this task: students get to walk around the classroom and ask each other the 6 basic questions (como te llamas, como estas, donde vives, etc) according to what they have on their card. Once done, they swap cards and move on to introduce themselves to a different peer. You can get students to do this in the first person or even in the third person if you want to work different verb endings. These cards are easily adaptable to any language and you can edit the information any time. Print in colour and laminate them, they will last you a lifetime. This activity was designed to go with Mira 1 as a recap of the first module once module 3 has been done as well (as that’s when pets are introduced).

El presente perfecto - the Spanish perfect tense

Ppt presentation I created to collate some fun tried and tested activities to teach the perfect tense to KS4 students. It can be easily adapted to any ability group due to the nature of the activities. It provides an explanation of what it is (uses), time indicators, formation (endings) and main irregular forms. It then includes 4 different activities: a basic sentence translation activity, a never have I ever task to get your students standing up and down depending on whether they’ve done a number of things (18 in total), a differentiated die activity to do in pairs to conjugate verbs in the perfect tense or take it a bit further and ask each other questions based on the given verbs, and finally a list of 26 things students might have or might have not done before they finish school, to practise “ya” and “aun no”. tiempos pasados: preterito e imperfecto - actividad interactiva

(0)
quick interactive activity we can give our students to do individually to consolidate the difference between the preterite and the imperfect tenses in Spanish. The reason for this activity to be done individually is because it has explanations (formation, uses…) on the slides that students can click on if they’re stuck. See preview for options.

Viva 1 - Module 2.4 ¿Que deportes haces?

(0)
A 92-slide ppt which covers the relevant language to teach Module 2.4 Que deportes haces? from the Viva 1 textbook. Ppt contains plenty of vocabulary to talk about sports, how often and when and why (adjectives). This sub-unit consolidates opinions, days of the week and verb conjugations in the present tense, all covered in modules 2.1 to 2.3. It has, towards the end of the powerpoint, a section dedicated to a wide range of starter activities (odd one out, what’s missing, pyramid translation, evil tiles, find the errors, disappearing text…). It also consolidates the 3 present tense conjugations and introduces stem-changing verbs (including some practise on these). There are differentiated and challenging activities to practise all skills with your students. You will find all materials to teach module 2 in my shop. Check out the bottom notes on each slide - you will often find instructions to tasks and links to relevant kahoots & blookets.

Stimmt 1 - Freizeit, Klassenzimmer & Stadt / freetime, classroom & city Sentence Builders

(0)
3 differentiated sentence builders I created to get students speaking about: Kapitel 3 - Was machst du in deiner Freizeit? Kapitel 4 - Was gibt es in deinem Klassenzimmer? Kapitel 4 - Was gibt es in deiner Stadt? These have proved successful with my students, as they haven’t not only aided with speaking tasks, but they’ve loved to refer to them for writing tasks as well, as they know exactly what to do in order to produce high quality sentences. Each builder includes step by step ideas on how to extend sentences to go from a grade B to A*.
Viva 2 - Module 2.5 Mi guia

Viva 2 - Module 2.5 Mi guia

(0)
A very simple lesson containing 5 mini-activities to do in pairs based around 2 TV guides to exploit this type of authentic text. It’s highly based on the textbook but extending it. It also includes a British TV guide example to work on speaking. As this is done towards the end of the module, I’ve included 2 noughts and crosses sheets for students to do in pairs and thus review vocabulary from module 2.3 Prefiero las comedias. PPT contains a total of 8 slides (1 of them being the answer sheet to the noughts and crosses game).
