How coastal landforms are created by transportation and deposition.
This lesson explains how:
material can be transported by waves along a beach
humans can control the movement of material on a beach
interfering with the natural movement of material along the coast can cause problems
materials are deposited in low energy zones effectively straightening the coastline
deposited materials can build up to form spits, and material from other sources can accumulate behind the spit leading to the formation of new land
