A comprehensive series of multimedia materials to support the teaching of the GCSE Design and Technology Textiles Technology course. The materials can be downloaded as a complete Moodle course or as individual elements. The third unit explores labelling theories of criminal behaviour and the final unit encourages learners to think about the value and accuracy of official statistics on crime by exploring the reasons people have for reporting and not reporting crime to the police. An interactive whiteboard resource designed to extend understanding of feeding relationships. Suitable for upper KS2. Pupils are reminded of feeding relationships and food webs are revised.
They are then asked to consider what would happen if one section of the web was changed or removed. Introduced to the term interdependence. Pupils then continue to investigate the effects on an ecosystem when part of it is altered in any way.
Simplified models are shown and it should be stressed that the effects are far more complex in reality.
