The resource begins with an introduction to the Census and its history. Also included are examples of how census data has been used to study the history of the local area. This data is available to download as Information Workshop or Excel files. There are also examples of how video can be used to create a presentation about the local area.

The resources contain ACTIVstudio2 flipcharts for use with Promethean Whiteboards and also PowerPoint presentations. These are contained within the relevant files. The resources support a study on the properties of materials and food. A brief summary of the resources are outlined below. The MatchFood and MatchMaterials flipcharts highlight the differences between foods and materials respectively as well as providing simple classification exercises. The quizzes flipcharts aim to stimulate further investigations through asking pupils questions of the nature ‘what will happen next?’

The resources are suitable for whole class teaching to promote thinking skills and discussion. Some of the resources are designed to be used with a digital projector ideally on an interactive whiteboard. Paper based resources are also included with references to recommended WJEC texts.
