Mon Identité; Mon caractère pp.48, 49 - Studio Rouge 2; Module 3

(1)
Goes with Studio 2, Module 3 but could be used with any lesson describing your character. This resource is based on p.49, Module 3 of Studio 2. The exercises are designed to improve reading comprehension and aim to help students adapt language for their own purpose. Practise forming sentences using: Je passe des heures à + infinitive J'ai horreur de + infinitive J'ai horreur de + noun I have also included translation tasks to and from the TL. There are 2 answer sheets so that students can mark and self assess. This resource is a great follow up to Mon caractère, pp. 48, 49 - Studio Rouge; Module 3 which deals mainly with adjectives and adjectival agreement. Written by the author of Heinemann's Mira express 1 and 2, Resources and Assessment - Grammar Sheets.

The Perfect Tense in Spanish

These tried and tested worksheets will help your students understand how to form the Perfect Tense in Spanish and what it means. Practise the verb 'haber', convert a range of common infinitives into regular past participles before moving on to irregular ones. Learn how to use 'aún' and 'todavía' with the Perfect Tense and practise 'Have you ever been to ...? and "Have you ever ...? with a carefully structured speaking task. The exercises are well scaffolded and build up to students working more confidently in this tense. This resource, comprising 4 worksheets and 1 ppt., goes with Studio 1 but could be used with any course covering directions and asking the way. It covers the directions and prepositions on pp. 72, 73 of Studio 1 but uses the vocabulary of places in town rather than that of the theme park. The ppt. includes some of the exercises on the 4 worksheets, making it easier for you to explain grammar and pronunciation to your class.

I wrote this resource to complement the AQA French Oxford coursebook but it could be used in conjunction with other GCSE coursebooks. It is based on the theme of ‘Ma famille et mes amis’ and comprises 4 worksheets and 4 powerpoints. The worksheets provide practice in: adjectival agreement comparative adjectives : plus … que, moins … que, aussi … que superlative adjectives reflexive verbs in the present tense negatives: ne … pas, ne … jamais, ne … plus The varied exercises have been well structured and differentiated to guide students through the challenges of French grammar and, hopefully, help them achieve a higher degree of accuracy in their writing and speaking. The 4 powerpoints include most of the worksheet exercises with answers, making it possible for you to demonstrate grammatical points, discuss pronunciation and mark work in class with your students.

GCSE French - Relationships with family and friends: Ma famille et mes amis (part 2)

I wrote this resource to complement the AQA French Oxford coursebook but it could be used in conjunction with other GCSE coursebooks. It is based on the theme of ‘Ma famille et mes amis’ and comprises 5 well differentiated translation worksheets. Each worksheet begins with vocabulary practice followed by revision of key grammar (adjectival agreement, comparative and superlative adjectives, reflexive verbs in the present tense and negatives) and ends with a short text to translate from memory into French. The powerpoint provides the answers to the 5 translation tasks. This resource would ideally be used after ‘Ma famille et mes amis (part 1)’ which gives a more in-depth treatment of grammatical points. However, for more able students, it could be used on its own.

The Subjunctive with Impersonal Expressions and Querer que

(4)
6 worksheets to practise impersonal expressions which take the subjunctive or the indicative mood. I have included paradyms of AR, ER and IR verbs, including radical changing and reflexive in the present subjunctive. Some common irregular verbs like 'ser', 'estar', 'ir', 'tener', 'hacer' and 'decir' also make an appearance. The exercises are differentiated well and should help your students understand how to form the present subjunctive and when/when not to use it with impersonal expressions and 'querer que'. I think this resource is more suited to G.C.S.E. students because of the vocabulary used in the examples. However, you could adapt the language to match A Level topics. If you like this resource, please have a look at my other work in wylamuk's shop. I mostly write resources in French and Spanish to go with current coursebooks - Studio and Mira. I am currently writing G.C.S.E. and A Level resources to help teach the new syllabus. Written by the author of Heinemann's Mira express 1 and 2, Resources and Assessment - Grammar Sheets.
