GCSE - AQA and Edexcel - Technology in everyday life - Advantages and disadvantages of social media

(0)
This is the second resource on the GCSE topic of social media which deals mainly with the advantages and disadvantages of mobile technology. 1ppt. and 19 pages of exercises. Your students will learn to use the irregular verbs, aller, faire, vouloir, pouvoir and devoir in the Present Tense through a range of carefully designed tasks. Their vocabulary range will improve as they find synonyms, identify the meaning of specific French vocabulary in reading tasks and translate. I have also included tasks which require matching questions and answers and there are speaking tasks, to do in pairs, which will help improve performance both in role play and general conversation. There is a writing task which requires students to write between 90 and 150 words by answering 9 key questions. In this way, your students can begin to build up a portfolio in preparation for the written exam. There is a teacher led listening task with an accompanying worksheet and ppt. Great practice to develop listening skills and it should help your students improve pronunciation. The worksheets have been meticulously designed and are at least as nicely presented as any resource you might buy from a respectable publisher. Many of the worksheets are also on ppt. to make it easier for you to present vocabulary and grammar to your classes. I have also written an AQA Reading Practice Paper for the new spec exam based entirely on the theme of new technology together with some Higher Level examples and 21 translations + mark scheme (bundle). Please take a look! Written by the author of Heinemann's Mira express 1 and 2 Resources and Assessment Grammar Sheets.

GCSE French - Relationships with family and friends: Ma famille et mes amis (part 2)

(0)
I wrote this resource to complement the AQA French Oxford coursebook but it could be used in conjunction with other GCSE coursebooks. It is based on the theme of ‘Ma famille et mes amis’ and comprises 5 well differentiated translation worksheets. Each worksheet begins with vocabulary practice followed by revision of key grammar (adjectival agreement, comparative and superlative adjectives, reflexive verbs in the present tense and negatives) and ends with a short text to translate from memory into French. The powerpoint provides the answers to the 5 translation tasks. This resource would ideally be used after ‘Ma famille et mes amis (part 1)’ which gives a more in-depth treatment of grammatical points. However, for more able students, it could be used on its own.
